Chapter 298 is a particular case. First, lots of people were extremely dissapointed to see a filler, so they can't see it as anything beyond a burden to moving the story forward. Second, some people are sick and tired of fanservice: It was cool an all at... that time before it became mandatory for every single anime to have it.  We all know Fairy Tail, like Rave, does not have the ecchi tag just for show, but it doesn't become less irritating.



Put 1 and 2 together and you have a real forum storm.



PD: By the way, it does matter if you consider how cheap a tactic Mashima is using.

The first time i saw a silent chapter in HxH and nowadays everyone is coping it....

Fillers doesn't mean not canon as authors can work and confirm the canonical status of a filler.



More or less, I think you mean fillers can't be a part of the main story - which is true unless said otherwise by the author.

fillers has no purpose to the plot and is just there just to be there

2 thoughts crossed my mind. First that when you think it can't get worse after the filler fanservice chap and second how it must have been jealous of Naruto and its silent chapter.



Cute chapter and all but damn filler. Totally unneeded and especially in the middle of maybe one of the best arcs in FT. It's manga! It doesn't need fillers like that and especially not 2 in a row >_>

I don't see many no dialogue chapters around usually or that I remember....the most notable one I remember was from HxH.



Still I'll remember this for long time definitely, it worked well, especially considering it had Gildartz as the focus. I laughed pretty hard....especially at his reactions to that girl and to seeing FT on the screen haha. xD



I look forward to the next....guess it will be directed to Gajeel may be or some info on the place he was at.

Now, to be disappointed by the next chapter... I have that feeling...

These no dialogue chapters always remind me of when Niizuma in Bakuman did it.
