BWAHAHAHAHAHA, I knew it! I knew Kaname wasn't Yuki's brother... I knew it!
... instead, he's her great-great-...-great-grandfather! xD At least that means it wouldn't be incest, right? xD
Anyone ever seen that Vampire movie with Kate Beckinsale? I think that is kind of like what Kaname is. He is older than any vampire alive now, and was "awakened" by Rido for some design. However, Yuki's parents took him in and tried to let him be a child and care for him. Which is probably why we have these scenes with them trying to express their affection for him. I'm guessing everyone else that knows about his true existence as an ancestor of the current vampires think him a beast and a monster. Being the caring folks they were though, they never wanted that for him.
... But of course, he was older than them, so he did things like step in front of Yuki's dad, and ordained himself the protector of the Kuran family.
However, because Rido awakened Kaname (likely with his own blood), Kaname couldn't kill Rido. But, by giving Rido his blood in this chapter, he is awakening Rido, and thus, he should know be able to kill him. Unfortunately, it seems that this was something the council expected him to do, so who knows how that'll go :S
In the meantime, Zero's in jail... no idea why, except maybe because the council wants to be able to try and use him later on? I wonder how Yuki's going to feel about him being locked up?
Ahhhh, Yuki's dad was so yummy this chapter. Best looking guy of the bunch xD And I can't wait to see what's going to happen next xD

It's good that VK has a lot of mystery, it's cool. But it's just getting too much now.I love it!
Wow, now it's more clear. o_o
I understood the thing with Kaname being the ancestor of the Kurans, but the thing with Rido and Kaname's blood... I was confused X_o Thanks =O
I agree, it makes a lot more sense with your explanation Kineta, good job (^^)b
