Even though conflict is integral to intrigue (and in this case is historically accurate), part of me really just wanted the rest of this series to be creating a society in which 2 cultures from opposite sides of the world come to live amongst each other. It could still go that route, but I am going to be really sad if it ends with tragedy and violence. I know it's also historically accurate but fuck some of these characters are just mindless NPC's, like please at least attempt to resist your Norse programming lol

so... i've finally caught up. i'll spare the thoughts on this chapter specifically to just reminisce a bit on the journey of this manga shortly. for starters, i think this is VERY close to being a 10/10, and i think if they stick the ending, it still has that potential. for now though, i think it's a very high 9/10 because there are a handful of things that i think are notably flawed about it despite an overwhelming majority of it being practically flawless. i think the story is it's best aspect, it's rather complex and tells many different stories with many different meanings and i love them all. the art is great, the characters and worldbuilding are too. truly a fantastic manga and i look forward to following it from here on to the end.
