Vinland Saga Chapter 186 Discussion

Already, we're starting to see things gradually unravel without Thorfinn being any the wiser. Thorfinn spent so much time and effort trying to avoid conflict with the natives (which looks like it might be undermined by Eyvar soon anyway) that he didn't even think about avoiding conflict within his group of settlers over land distribution or anything else.

Capitalism is the root of evil here

It's going to be a small calm before the storm isn't it? Well, I'm here for it. The little moments are just too precious.

karli was mean owning that swing alone. welp he should apologize to his friends. those lads was kinda right tbh. since thorfinn couldn't handle that land sharing and everyone's fighting over it.. I'm having a bad thoughts on the next chapters

                        Eyvar and his goons dealt with Cordelia pretty easily. I was starting to get the feeling that this chapter was going to be the beginning of things going downhill for Thorfinn and the other settlers, I guess in a way it still might be, but the chapter just ended peacefully with Karli going off to make up with his friends and Cordelia accepting that there's no need to turn Eyvar in to Thorfinn.



In a weird way it does and doesn't feel like we're building up to something big atm. So far all the little disputes have been cleared up peacefully and I get the feeling even this land settlement will go the same way. There's plenty more to write about if the goal here is to show us every detail of the group moving into Vinland so I guess there's no rush for a fall out atm.

A very nice chapter. Cordelia might get some development in this arc,i hope Hild gets some too.

Eyvar and his group of friends still believe that Thorfinn hates war because he has no fighting skills, well time will tell them what's the truth.



Fighting over land is somewhat inevitable when you have these many people engaged doing so much work, this time the dispute was resolved but it doesn't look like it will be same the next time too. For now it's all peaceful but I am guessing some very harsh challenges coming their way pretty soon.
