Vinland Saga Chapter 176 Discussion

A return to form after a somewhat lackluster run. 20 years is a long time too.

Looks like Leif forgot which Throfinn his son was ;)

20 years... Damn! And to think it's only been a couple of months for me. And seeing Leif so old really hit me. I was hoping he could go to Vinland with them, but oh well.

But seriously, 20 years since then, we had a hell of an adventure in this manga. "Follow your heart" is also a very strong advice.

I'm glad Askeladd managed to also make an appearance. I actually miss the focus his ghost has on Thorfinn.

After a very iffy run of chapters for quite a while now, this was both excellent and emotional and a real return to form for the series.

Leif being senile and much more visibly aged.

It has been a really charming chapter. Damn, 20 years already... Thorfinn has sure grown a lot, physically and especially mentally.



Leif deserves my respects. He, indirectly, has been like a third father to Thorfinn, even though his role hasn't been as active as Askeladd or Thors. After all, he's the one who taught Thorfinn everything about sailing, adventures and, more importantly, about Vinland itself. It's actually painful to see him decaying from age, since we all know he's going to die soon, and he's clearly not going to Vinland this time.

Now it's the time for the younger generation to go there and make history again.

I legit cried this chapter. Best one in a good f*cking while and good on a phenomenal scale. The "20 years" page, "my son" and the last one really messed with my emotions. Loved it. 10/10.

Man... what an emotional chapter,made me shed a tear. I wasn't sure it was Leif at the beginning, aging can be really painful to observe, to coexist with. This might be the last time Thorffin chills with Leif. Best chapter in a while.

It was a great chapter and I can only imagine how the impact must have felt for people who are reading this series since it came out.

Whew, it took me a whole month to finally catch up from the anime to this point, and what a perfect place to stop too, I'm lucky!



I now understand why many people warned me about this series being slow paced, the monthly wait for new chapters must have been a torture for the fans.
