I don't understand how Thorfinn can have such modern ideologies. I understand he's particular and that can create some anachronisms but his language gives me the impression that he's a Japanese character (e.g. isekai) who was reincarnated in Thorfinn's body, and I wouldn't even be not surprised if it was the final revelation...



Joking aside, I find the characters have also lost appeal and have become only pieces to convey the author thoughts, it's sad because I think I approve of all this but... as a historical manga, I can't find any credibility.

Another showcase of Thorfinn's naivety here, showing his lack of understanding about law, trade and commerce in comparison to Halfdan and his years of wisdom, as well as framing him as acting like a hyperactive child in not fully listening to Halfdan's words and bouncing around about the prospects. Not to mention the fact that, as sound as Halfdan's advice sounds, he doesn't even think critically about it for a second and just blindly agrees with him.

I love how Thorfinn has matured so much, that even his hand gestures have changed. A really small, but great detail. I get the feeling the story will test Thorfinn's conviction against violence at some point.
