The no weapons rule is just plain dumb. Even if they aren't planning on fighting, just it's presence could help deter others from trying to attack them. Also who the hell was that at the end?

Honestly I agree that the weapon ban is very dumb. The native Americans aren't always friendly and who knows a war between them will happen and the Vikings only had their axes which weren't made for battle but for chopping. Native Americans had unique weapons like spear throwers and tomahawks. Spear throwers in particular are dangerous because they can throw spears crazy fast and they have a long range.

The entire point of settling in Vinland is to create a country without war. You're basically saying "Yeah but what if there's war?" If thorfinn anticipated battles with the Natives he wouldn't go to Vinland to begin with.

That means Thorfinn was dumb for anticipating absolutely 0 war. I know that Thorfinn is a nice guy and doesn't want wars at all but they should be ready to defend themselves. And if war is inevitable, it's better to fight back than just die and perish. According to the real history, vikings were attacked by the natives there, and just in case if it actually happened in the manga (which is definitely fictional and not even close to the true story), things would get really bad for them.

Finished the anime maybe 4 days ago, and then spent almost every free moment over the last 48 hours reading the manga from chapter 1 lol. I definitely shouldn't stopped somewhere so I didn't join you guys in this monthly update cycle.

I agree with what many are saying about the timeskip being a bit jarring and that there were many events during that span doubtlessly worth being seen. Still nice to see Thorfinn with both his family and his new family though.

Hopefully Hild becomes a character that-- Actually, that's saying enough in my opinion. Hopefully she becomes a CHARACTER soon instead of a cool face that isn't providing anything beyond repetitive empty threats.wasn't there a flashback in this chapter that showcased what happened during his time in Rome.

Halvor looks like the lovechild of Biscuit Krueger and Thorkell, and that's really disturbing

So Sigurd got captured by pirates while being armed but apparently Thorfinn's ship is fine being unarmed because plot armor

After watching the final episode of the anime, then seeing this beautiful chapter, it's a good day to be a vinland fan.

swords are created with the purpose of killing other humans and are a symbol of aggression thats why thorfinn doesn't want them, every other weapon that serves for survival is fine.
