I think Thorfinn will find a way out of it through talking or something of the like...

This was bound to happen, like OP said. How are they going to travel so far without resorting to violence? I can't even imagine the threats waiting for them on their journey, this hunter girl single handedly "kills"  Thorfinn and the others didn't even cover 5% of the distance. Thorfinn will have to become Jesus to not use violence if some slave traders or smugglers show up. Gudrid better be really willing to see everything, because this will be a  great opportunity for her character to grow,and I just can't wait.

This is already becoming a very painful journey of atonement for our boi. Can't wait to see how this will play out.

Great chapter. Hild looks like a total badass. With that said, I hope the situation gets resolved in a more creative way than "Thorfinn talks his way out of it", I feel like it'd be a cop-out since Hild doesn't look like the sort of person to be swayed by rhetoric and talks of peace. Plus, any "don't follow the path of vengeance" speeches from Thorfinn will sound like a hollow attempt to save his life without being forced into the awkward position of defending himself.



I like the parallels between Thorfinn's and Hild's stories. I hope she sticks around. Vinland Saga could use a compelling secondary character, since most of his companions don't seem like his equals, but rather like tagalong sidekicks following the fascinating main character while trying to find themselves. Hild is clearly Thorfinn's equal.



Gah. And now we play the waiting game... I wish the chapters were like, 100 pages long each.

Well, that was an interesting chapter.

I thought that this was the girl that escaped years ago when Askeladd wiped off that village and buried everyone in it and the girl escaped.

Anyway, I'm excited for the next chapter. I think that this will be one of the challenges Thorfinn faces in his new life of pacifism.
