He is awesome with a dagger, like a freakin assasin... and judging by the end of the chapter it looks like it might go back to the time it was at during the beginning of the manga which is awesome.

It really bugs me Thorfinn didn't make it a mission to return to his family.

I liked the old mother. She was tough. xD She shouldn't have trusted Thorfinn so quickly, though. This chapter really did a harsh reversal on the kind farmer family saves the hero and nurses him back to health cliche.

(It's been a while so you probably don't even care anymore about this topic)

I could understand Thorfinn not returning to his family.

He probably thinks that he couldn't face them if he hadn't avenged his father (seeing as he also blames himself for it) and wants to return as a stronger person (he aims to become a honorable warrior like his father but is more of a vengeful beast at this point).

He was too young to understand why his father wished  for him to lead a peaceful normal life and wanted his son to grow up to become the kind hearted family man Thors yearned to be for the rest of his life.

His father sacrificed himself so that Thorfinn could return to his mother and sister without harm but didn't realize that his death would prevent his son from going back (although I admit he didn't really have a choice here)

A pretty good chapter, this kind of backstory filler ( where the young frightening soldier/warrior unexpectedly meets a nice family and partly opens up to them, feeling more human again before they bear witness to his "true nature" as a violent berserker that kills dozens of people in cold blood, only for him to realize what kind of monster he is in those innocent normal people's eyes and how they must fear/detest him now that they've seen his true nature ) has been done over hundreds of times but is still very effective  and was pulled off really well here.
