Vinland Saga Chapter 24 Discussion

Prince Canute is much too timid to be the future king.

What I've noticed in Vinland saga (and haven't seen as often in other manga) is the way Yukimura sensei employs the conversation between the marching soldiers to enrichen our understanding of the time period, convey the mood of the story and emotion of its characters and the feeling of time passing.

We get to understand things from their point of view, learning about their daily lives, opinions and traditions etc..



That way he adds a human element or you could say through this he lends more realism to his characters in their respective world.



Some details might also be foreshadowing to future events or different cultures & ideals that will play a role in the manga.

Is the prince seriously that docile? He's such a puppet, he wont even speak for himself. :/ Does he have severe social anxiety, or selective mutism or something?



Grr. Talking about women like they are property, not people. As expected of the time period. >.<



I liked that the old priest talked about love. I'm too sentimental for this manga. xD

that was their reinforcements.

The manga is really pushing forward the expectation to see Askeladd play a sort of surrogate father for Thorfinn.

                        Looks like the whole thing was a trap... well that sucks but I for some reason feel that this won't turn into a battle. Also I wonder if the dude there with, that is being there guid,  has anything to do with this trap.

that monk guy has got something, I think that girlish looking prince is not the actual prince

I wonder if the prince beautiful pure appearance will prove to be something or his just a timid that will be taken advantage.
