The story has a leisurely pace and gradual development. Initially, there's a lot of terminology that might be confusing, and even by chapter 26, I haven't fully grasped the cultivation system. Additionally, the sexual scenes are more subtle, so it's not as explicit as you might expect. My preference was for a deeper emotional romance, but this novel focuses more on political intrigue and a character's cultivation journey, with a touch of tragic love history.

The characters have evolved beautifully (up until the final chapter), and the narrative is engaging, with intricate political machinations and multifaceted relationships, not just between the main characters. The plot is well-structured, ensuring no loose ends; all questions are satisfactorily answered by the end. I particularly enjoyed the resolution, despite a few angsty moments earlier on. Reading such stories is always a delight, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who appreciates a well-crafted story.
