In the heart of the Imperial City, where power is won through whispers and lost with a single misstep, Ling Xuefeng reigns over the political battlefield. A woman of unmatched cunning and ambition, she has maneuvered her way into the highest echelons of power—yet enemies lurk in every shadow.

As Crown Prince Zhao Wuyuan struggles to maintain his grip on the throne, and General Wei Jian seeks to restore honor to the empire, a deadly game of deception and alliances unfolds. But when the naive yet ambitious Shen Rui, son of the Imperial Chancellor, finds himself ensnared in Ling Xuefeng’s web, the balance of power shifts dangerously.

With spies masquerading as allies and blades hidden behind smiles, the Imperial Court becomes a battleground where survival means mastering the art of manipulation. As the storm rages, the question remains—who will be left standing when the final move is made?

this is a promising read. there are instances when the MC's action may not be consistent with his previous life as an assassin, but perhaps this is also due to his assimilation with his new life. looking forward to more chapters.

I just finished reading the prologue, and I'm completely captivated!  Your opening immediately grabs the reader with its intriguing premise: a powerful but morally bankrupt hero inadvertently creates a monster far worse than the Demon King.  The philosophical questions you raise about the nature of good and evil are both thought-provoking and perfectly set the stage for the dark fantasy world you're building.  The framing device of the "Narrator Behind the Curtain" is a clever touch, adding a layer of meta-narrative charm that enhances the overall storytelling. The introduction of Iróas is masterful.  He's not your typical heroic archetype; instead, he's a chillingly compelling anti-hero, whose actions reveal a character driven by self-interest and a disturbing lack of empathy.  The use of the system to showcase character stats is a brilliant addition, subtly highlighting the power dynamics at play and underscoring the hero's manipulative nature. The contrast between his technologically advanced domain and the medieval kingdom he's tasked with protecting is striking, further emphasizing his detachment and the looming sense of impending doom. The suspense builds relentlessly throughout the chapter.  The king's growing realization that he's unleashed an uncontrollable force, and the subtle hints of the hero's manipulation, create a palpable sense of unease and dread.  The ending, with the hero departing the royal court, leaves a lingering chill and a powerful sense of anticipation for the catastrophic consequences to come.  This is a darkly brilliant start to a webnovel that promises a thrilling and morally complex story.

Hello Dear Readers, this is my first time writing a werewolf story. The story contains a rollercoaster ride of Melissa and Radulf.  While former is fighting to be loved and seen by her mate, the latter wants revenge. I can't reveal much, but Radulf's character is filled with angst because of what happened with him in the past. Once it will be revealed, you all will connect to him more and more as the story progresses. As for the female lead, Melissa, she had a tough childhood and was being locked in the cold palace for 18 years until one day she was ordered to marry Radulf and finally got free. However, that was not her freedom since she has to navigate a lot of obstacles. Radulf has become thick skinned after losing his family and himself too, so his actions are going to anger all of you. However, with time he will melt away and realise how wrong he was to Melissa. I hope you all give a chance to this story. Thank you and Happy Reading 💜

The story is interesting I like how it progresses, you could fair well with more character development or effort towards pacing and characters that are easier to relate to. It's hard to get really into it, but it's not bad. I like it and if anyone is a fan of weak-strong progression, I would assume they'd like it
