The plot closely follows the game it's based on. The story begins as Fayt Leingod is on vacation with his family and friend Sophia Esteed on a peaceful island. Suddenly, an unknown enemy attacks their planet for reasons unknown. After getting separated from his family, Fayt finds himself stranded on a backwater planet, which is where the real adventure kicks off. But chances are, if you're interested in this manga, you've probably already played the game and know all this... and if you haven't, I'll stop here to avoid spoilers.
Compared to the game, there are noticeable differences, especially in the characters' personalities. For instance, Cliff is portrayed as a lovable pervert, while Nel Zelpher not only retains her sex appeal but also gains a distinct personality (tsundere), something she lacked in the game. Additionally, minor characters like Clair Lasbard and other members of the Crimson Blades get their own dedicated chapters, which provide deeper insights into their backgrounds—great news for fans of the game. Some new characters not present in the game are introduced, though this isn't necessarily a drawback, just not a standout feature.
Overall, this manga is solid. It's much more lighthearted compared to the video game and includes some ecchi scenes, a surprising addition given the game's lack thereof despite Nel's allure. There is one downside, though—it has been discontinued... Yeah, I know, bummer! :P
Still, I highly recommend giving this manga a try. It features some of the funniest scenes I've ever come across!
