[WARNING: MATURE CONTENT] She was the most unpopular female wolf in the New Moon Pack, as lowly as a blade of grass. Eight years ago, her mother went missing, her father was killed, and her entire pack was exterminated. Thus, she had been demoted to the lowest servant level by her father's murderer. For eight years, she had been beaten, cursed, and starved, but she kept her identity a secret. This year, she turned eighteen years old. He was the alpha of the largest werewolf pack in all of America and shone like the sun. With his perfectly sculpted face and a tremendous amount of money, no werewolf didn't know his name, and he was the dream lover of every woman. Everything seemed perfect, except for the fact that he didn't have a mate yet. This year, he turned twenty-six years old. What kind of spark or conflict would there be when they meet by chance? “Rose, I can give you everything you want. Mysteries are an intriguing genre. Rather than providing constant happiness throughout the narrative, they establish a solid barrier: there's a perplexing, frustrating start, and a (hopefully) gratifying and enlightening conclusion. Higurashi exemplifies this, to the extent that some arcs conclude without any explanation, making them less enjoyable. The trade-off is that when you finally reach the arcs that provide answers, the satisfaction is immense. To fully enjoy the "Atonement arc," you must first read the "Demoned away" arc. Assuming you've done so, you're in for a captivating horror mystery.

Story: Highly entertaining, often disturbing, and satisfying resolutions to some of the questions raised so far. This arc introduces new mysteries, leaving you even more invested in uncovering what's happening in Hinemazawa in 1983.

Art: Well-executed, with a great mix of cute character designs and unsettling content.

Characters: The familiar Higurashi cast shines in this version as we begin to understand the motivations behind everyone's earlier madness.

Enjoyment: Truly fun to read, leaving you craving more.

    Overall: Highly recommended.

The quintessential Higurashi arc. Every aspect of it is incredibly well-executed. The characters and the story were nothing short of brilliant. I admire how they developed Keiichi and Rena's characters in this chapter, giving them significant depth. It encapsulates everything Higurashi stands for flawlessly—Trust, Mystery, and Friendship. The ending was also excellent. The art is undoubtedly some of the best the series has produced so far. My sole issue with this arc is that it raises more questions than it provides answers.

Overall, it's the perfect Higurashi arc. It could reach perfection if it offered more answers. 9.5/10<p>
