I thought the world was vast, for me to wander, but now, it has only become a cage. For a life unhindered, I wield a single sword to pierce the ninth heavens. People find me displeasing, but there’s nothing they can do. That’s the kind of life I love!

“Stop! I paved this path and I planted these trees. If you want to pass through…”

“Brother, I come from the Dustfallen sect.”

“What? The Dustfallen sect! Piss off!”

This pitiful sect was so poor to the point where even bandits did not want to waste time on it. However, how could this sect, these nine measly people, be ordinary? What you see is only what they wish for you to see. What you can’t see is the truth!

Mu Yu—a young human boy with the powers of elemental demons—accidentally joins the impoverished Dustfallen sect. The sect that even bandits did not want to waste time on was actually hid great talents, concealing a huge secret! You look down on my sect? Then that’s your ignorance!

It's pretty bad. The writing style is just not good at all; there's too much telling rather than showing. Instead of having the character witness something cruel and question it through dialogue or other means, the author simply states, "Mu Yu thought about the cruelty of it all." I understand what the author is trying to convey, but it feels very forced and makes me cringe.

The characters and their interactions are also lackluster. The main character (MC) and his senior sister’s exchanges feel unnatural and more childish than I’d prefer. Then, he suddenly develops a crush on her, despite her not having any positive traits showcased in the writing—forced.

There’s another character named Ximen Buixue, who is supposed to be a funny playboy, but he’s not funny at all; he’s more of a creep. The banter between him and the MC is unbearably cringe-worthy and goes on for too long.

, if you’re sensitive to really bad writing like me, don’t even bother. The author doesn’t improve after 100 chapters.

The novel isn't bad; it's just somewhere between average and good. I appreciate that the main character (MC) isn't the only special one in the story. His "golden finger" ability is shared by four others.

However, the actions of the MC when he is still weak can be quite frustrating. The MC often does stupid things and seems to attract young masters like a magnet. Other characters are particularly irritating, especially his second brother. I'm glad that his first love didn't work out.

The story had good potential, but the author seems to have squandered it. Apart from that, the pacing follows the typical Xianxia pattern.

I gave it 5 stars because the overall rating seemed too low. , it's not boring, nor is it particularly entertaining. It's a fairly average novel.

I read it up to chapter 64, and there's already a noticeable fluctuation in the overall quality of the story.

    Here’s a bit of a spoiler:

The first arc, where the main character (MC) tries to enter the world of immortals through an academy selection, is quite decent. It features several meaningful actions, interactions, and some unpredictable plot twists.

The next arc, where the MC enters the Sect, is also unique. The Sect itself is rather unusual, and there are still some unexpected plot developments to keep you engaged.

However, just as you start to get excited about the next part of the story, the quality begins to decline. The plot becomes illogical, the interactions feel forced, and the events no longer flow smoothly from one to another. It seems like the author suddenly lost their knack for storytelling and is now continuing the novel in a rather amateurish manner.

    , it's a big disappointment.
