In the heart of a rain-soaked city, *The Daily Grind* coffee shop steams with quiet rhythms and whispered secrets. Here, two fractured souls collide—**Lena**, a reclusive artist drowning in the aftermath of a toxic relationship, and **Max**, a witty crime writer battling addiction and grief.

Lena finds solace in her corner table, sketching worlds where pain dissolves into geometric precision. Her ex, Daniel, once shattered her trust—and nearly her life—in a car accident he framed as her fault. Now, she hides behind oversized sweaters and almond milk lattes, convinced solitude is safer than scars.

Max arrives daily with a black americano and a notebook full of noir-tinged demons. Haunted by his brother’s death and a suicide attempt etched into his skin, he masks his unraveling with sharp humor and pills. But when a wrong coffee order sparks an unlikely connection, their guarded orbits begin to shift.

Through rain-soaked park benches and midnight text threads, Lena and Max tentatively unravel each other’s secrets. She glimpses the agony beneath his smirk; he detects the fury in her quiet. But when Daniel resurfaces to gaslight Lena, and Max’s relapse threatens to drown him, their fragile bond fractures.

As Lena confronts Daniel in a showdown of truth and lies, Max checks into rehab, clutching a letter from her like a lifeline. Healing is messy—Lena learns to wield her voice, while Max trades pills for raw, ink-stained honesty. Yet across the distance, their stories intertwine: a crumpled origami crane, a sketch of a man at a window, and the hope that even shadows need light to exist.

So far the story is kinda good. I can’t really tell much since the novel only has about 8 chapters, but again the story so far is kinda good. The world does feel big, but for the characters… can’t say much since there’s not a lot to go by.

My gosh it's been the longest time since I've been this intrigued with a story or an author enough to check out more than their 2 books. First star's ship which I have absolutely fell in love with, the whole alien stuff was incredibly exciting I wish it was longer. Then I have checked the other apocalypse story I have yet to finish I'm at 38th chapter but I'm glad I spent the coins on this one before that because this is just really interesting and exciting. On a more honest review your stories feels like it could have something more I don't know what exactly but maybe more subplots  and I'm saying this as someone who only likes to get to the main story quickly but that is not really a problem either so I can't really point it out but I really love the part she met with Elizabeth and that whole horror stuff. Yeah I think I know what I was expecting from this story, it's horror scenes. not just killing someone or being killed by a zombie but a horror scene where it plays out like a game or something like that. For star's ship (read more than 200 chapters) I wished to see more on the alien culture like the njk and saalistaja were really interesting alien races in the story so I wish had more subplots on them so the story could drag on but then agian these are my selfish opinions as a reader so overall everything was to the point and fun in all the stories which was actually refreshing.

"You smell.. wonderful.." he continued. "And.. your so small.. you act so strong, but.. your so weak and fragile.. such a fragile human.." he buried his face into my neck. "I'm hungry, Sky... I want you. I want you so bad.. but I'm afraid to take too much. I can't lose you.. what would I do without you? If you die... I want to die with you.." he told me. I wrapped my arms around him, being careful with my hand. "I would love to die with you, Vincent, but I don't want you to die with me. You lived so long without me and became such a well-mannered man. You'll get a wife, a child, and a new life. You'll be happy, and that's what I'm excited to see. And... Vincent... if you are hungry, take some. I'll be fine, I promise. I won't go that fast. Humans are fragile compared to vampires, but my will is powerful. Just like my love for you," I chuckle lightly as I rub his back softly.

Well not really strange more so unexpected, he watched Catherine move into the drunk mans embrace, lift her leg up hitting him right in the crotch without hesitation.
