The world is governed by the System, an omnipotent force that dictates reality, bestowing power upon chosen individuals, granting them Classes, Paths, and Skills to combat the monstrous horrors that emerge from the Rifts. Hunters-humanity\'s champions-rise through the ranks, seeking glory, wealth, and dominion.

But what happens when the System itself rejects you?

Ronan Kessler, an orphan from the slums of Ashenford, had only one dream-to Awaken and become a Hunter, to rise above the filth and carve his name into history. But when his Awakening fails and the System deems him worthless, he is cast aside, doomed to a life of insignificance.

Yet, as he stands on the precipice of despair, something else calls to him. A voice from the abyss, a force older than the System itself. It offers him a choice: remain nothing, or embrace the forbidden.

Marked by the Devourer\'s Curse, Ronan is no longer bound by the System\'s laws. He does not level up. He does not gain normal skills. Instead, he devours his enemies, assimilating their essence, evolving into something beyond human.

But power comes at a price. The world fears him. Hunters seek to destroy him. And deep within the void, something watches, waiting for the day he opens the Forbidden Gate.

With the world against him and an eldritch hunger clawing at his soul, Ronan must decide:
