Ruinous Future: Nightmares of Constant Death

In an endless white expanse of nothingness, a black dot was visible. It was visible from everywhere one looked, it was as if the dot drew one\'s gaze upon itself.

As one grew closer, they would realize that the dot was actually a pitch-black figure with no discernable features on its body or face. The figure assumed a balled-up position with a small, incandescent light burned brightly inside of the figure.

The figure looked to be cradling the small light. 

The small light was a ring woven of infinite golden threads, with a single white pearl in the middle that bound the woven threads together.

The figure let out a small breath, and then took a small breath in, the figure was asleep.

This was its endless dream.

In a world where magical Trials allowed humanity to challenge the Domains that plagued Earth, Bellona Finley dreamt of her death.

Such was a curse she bore. After having enough of it, Bellona chose to accept the rewards of her first Trial. This action would force her to go to the Terrarium, a prestigious academy that trained those who would challenge the Domains.

Before she could reach the Terraium, though, she has to catch a ride on the bullet train leading from New York City to a flying city named The Heart.

She dreams of a simple life far from danger, but will she be able to attain that dream? Or will she die in obscurity before even challenging her first Domain?

Hello, author here. It\'d be really nice if you read my book. I do my best to at least upload 5 chapters per week, and all chapters are at least 2,000 words.

The world of Ruinous Future (old title...) is harsh and every character has to work to gain their power. Our poor girl Bell especially.

This isn\'t the type of story where Bell is going to simply overpower the rest of the characters after a single powerup. Rather, most of the characters are going to either stay on par with Bellona in terms of strength, or outright overpower her.

Bell\'s going to have to win her fights with not only sheer strength, but a bit of using her brain as well. Kind of like Dark Souls or any other Souls-like you can think of. Unfortunately, Bell isn\'t granted the miraculous ability to return from death, though. hahaha

Also, I hope that you enjoy the side characters!!! They\'re really cool!!!

As of 10/3/2024, I\'m working on rewriting a few of the early chapters as to get on par with the rest of the writing quality.
