Song Yan lived a miserable life. She was born with a great fortune but her ‘ luck ‘ was ‘ snatched ‘ by her half sister . Not gonna lie, the grammar isn’t perfect but it’s not bad enough for it to detract from the storyline or leave you confused. The story is riveting, the characters are interesting and have depth, and the ghosts are super freaky! There’s been a few scenes where I almost killed myself by dropping my phone on my face. Just so you know, this novel is primarily fantasy with romance lightly dusted on it like powdered sugar on a funnel cake. It’s there, but it’s not the main dessert. The ghosts take center stage, but you won’t even miss the romance because the main characters are in dire need of some personal growth and the female lead is just bad AF on her own. The characters have so many twists and turns, so don’t expect cliches. There are so many things that keep you engaged in the novel, which is a testament to how good of a creative writer the author is.
So if you like:

☑️ a cute bun
☑️ character growth
☑️ ghosts
☑️ scary stories
☑️ unique storyline
then you’ll enjoy this novel.
I hardly comment on novels bit this is just so sad because I felt this had more potential.
