I read this Manga primarily due to its historical background, but I must admit I am somewhat disappointed in that regard.
While we do get a glimpse of the political landscape tied to Senju, an abandoned child possibly connected to the Fujiwara clan, the main emphasis of this Manga is undeniably the romance between Moroe and his servant Senju.

The monks from the temple where Senju was raised pursue him for his beauty, while his fellow chigo envy him for it. Throughout the entire Manga, Senju wrestles with preserving his virginity...

...To clarify, although the storyline does possess some potentially intriguing elements, it feels overall insufficient, as the Manga's brevity doesn't allow for the expansion of political intrigue and instead centers solely on Moroe's intense affection for Senju.
The narrative concludes with a brief rescue mission involving the monk who saved Senju, which might be considered the "climax" — yet it feels anticlimactic. The climax is short, proceeding with almost no tension, resolving too swiftly without building suspense.
Moreover, questions regarding Senju's lineage are addressed in a fleeting conversation, leaving much to be desired and proving rather disappointing.

We become acquainted with three primary characters: Senju, Moroe, and Narihira.
Narihira proves quite fascinating, displaying various facets one would anticipate from a noble, such as eloquent speech and his demeanor toward Senju during their initial encounter. In contrast, Moroe often comes across as unpolished and contributes little to the historical ambiance. He could just as easily have been cast as a businessman, behaving the same way, and no one would have questioned it.
Senjumaru oscillates between maturity and innocence, which may be expected of a youth raised in his circumstances. He lacks knowledge in certain areas (like sexual intercourse) but is educated in calligraphy and understands the repercussions of most of his actions. Still, I wouldn't describe his character as remarkable or something I'd recognize as a compelling protagonist.
I might even label him "uninteresting" or "boring." He doesn't take initiative but mostly reacts to the world around him.

Overall — I rated this Manga "fair." It's not terrible, but it leaves much to be desired. The artwork is beautiful, and while the story isn't flawless, it remains enjoyable enough to warrant a quick read. If you enjoy historical Manga, you might want to give it a try — it's not a deeply layered tale, but it has a sweetness all its own.
It does include some smut, but it isn't the central theme, so you might feel unsatisfied if that's your primary interest in this Manga.

“Im going to be shameless and do self promotion.” For all my “kababayan” who loves a good read and watched a lot of “Tele-Serye” I invite you all to give my novel a try.  I’m very new and still making grammatical errors, but the story itself is something you won’t want to missed. Maraming salamat po! Your humble Author.

Hello! The author here, Our journey with Ann and Jeff had ended.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. You will fall in love with the characters.  There's not too many twists and turn, and you will never get bored. The Author is something else, to be able to create such a story.  I love the way it was written, easy to understand, doesn't have that many fancy wording that was going to make you look up in the dictionary or google.
