I stood there with hopes bigger than my doubts that Luciano would shoot me to prove his utmost loyalty to his father.

I was wrong.

I watched Luciano take his gun, release the safety, and aim the gun at me. The last thing I heard was him saying “I’m sorry” to my face before I heard the gunshot.

Her disbelief starts to clear when she is introduced to Luciano and applies for a job under him, where she is tempted to sign a contract which pulls her into the diabolical world of the mafia, where everything is a game of life, death, and money.

As Jasmine finds her way around this strange world, she realizes that most people would prefer to be on the Capo’s side than against him.

She also realizes that the entire strategy is a total lie, as the being on the side of the Capo know – even when he trusts you completely – will only take you through one path alone; the road to death and not coming back from it.
