“You will always be nothing but second place.” Then a bullet went through his chest.

Before Lu Chen had lost all consciousness, endless regret begins to flow through him. The people that cared for him he ignored, people that trusted him he betrayed. The only thing he had on his mind was; a second chance.

However, it is as if somebody had heard him plead. Lu Chen was sent back to his 18-year-old body. He didn\'t want to believe it, yet he had to. Lu Chen couldn\'t waste this opportunity. What will the young man do to change his future?

Having immersed myself in "A Chance To Become An Adonis," I must say it captivated me with its compelling narrative. The protagonist's journey of self-discovery resonated deeply, as he navigated the complexities of transformation and the quest for inner beauty. The author's prose was both evocative and thought-provoking, leaving me pondering the true meaning of perfection. A delightful blend of drama and introspection, this novel is a must-read for anyone seeking a profound exploration of identity.

"A Chance to Become an Adonis" is a thought-provoking novel that explores the complexities of self-acceptance, ambition, and the pursuit of perfection in a modern-day narrative. The title itself is a metaphor for the universal desire to be admired and recognized, particularly through external appearance and societal standards. The protagonist, perhaps initially driven by the allure of fame and the admiration of others, embarks on a transformative journey that challenges his preconceived notions of beauty and success.

The story delves into the human condition, as the character grapples with the pressure to conform to societal norms, the consequences of unchecked ambition, and the importance of inner growth. It raises questions about the thin line between self-improvement and obsession, and whether true happiness lies within or is derived solely from external validation. Throughout the tale, readers are invited to reflect on their own values, the role of image in their lives, and the pursuit of genuine self-worth.

This novel offers a poignant reminder that, despite our aspirations, it is our authentic selves that truly shine. By the end, the character learns that true adonis-like qualities lie not just in physical prowess but also in emotional intelligence, empathy, and vulnerability. The story ultimately serves as a call to embrace our uniqueness and celebrate individuality, rather than chasing an unattainable ideal.

In a human tone, "A Chance to Become an Adonis" is a compelling read that resonates with readers at a deeply personal level, encouraging introspection and self-discovery. It reminds us that true beauty lies within, and that the journey towards self-acceptance and fulfillment is far more rewarding than seeking external validation.

Writing quality: third grade. The author doesn't know anything at all about English, and it shows. They constantly misuse punctuation marks, have no clue of the difference between your and you're, the language used is basic, and it's littered with typos and grammar errors. 2/5

Update stability: no clue, but giving it a 1/5 because this abomination deserves a low overall rating.

Story development: missing. As of chapter 89, nothing of any note has happened except for the absolute worst examples of tropes. I rate this a 1/5 and would rate it lower if it was possible. My actual rating in this category would easily be a zero.

Character design: the worst. I haven't seen dumber characters on this entire platform, and considering I've seen literally hundreds of novels on the Webnovel platform, that's truly saying something. The main character's brain could be used to forge Mjolnir, the best friend is the most annoying combination of best friend tropes, the ex-wife is irredeemably stupid, and... well, everyone is the dumbest version of their particular collections of cliches that it's possible to be. 1/5 and I would recommend to this author in particular that they keep their day job, because being an author is just something they shouldn't do.

World background: abysmal. The bog standard modern-day face slapping novel, but the absolute worst version of that in every category. 1/5

Overall: I had low expectations but was somehow still disappointed. This showed up in my WN weekly recommendations for some unknown reason (someone probably sold their soul to the devil), and I started reading it solely because the chapters weren't locked. I regret it and wish I could light the brain cells containing the memory of this failed abortion on fire and burn them to complete and utter nonexistence. I regret very little about my life so far, but reading 89 chapters of this garbage excuse for a novel is one of those rare regrets. Author, I hope that you have to answer every seventh question you're asked with the phrase "in my butt" for the next four and a half years.

well I am out....too much frustration for me, if the story improves in the future I will read it again I liked the story but the protagonist who had 30 years of experience in business, married and betrayed does not realize when a woman who is in love with him while everyone around her notices her except him.
I recommend if you want a rather slow romance story and watch out harem probably Yandere too (I started reading for this tag)

I read this and all I can say is the MC isnt developed. He is supposed to be a grown man that was killed by his lover and got a second chance. but instead he acts like a kid, and not some *****. He seems more like a pre****. no hint of maturity. And theres no proper planning of what to do [ he has his goals of wanting to protect family, thats there ] but the actual execution isnt. this should be explored.  He hasnt made any plans on that and rather focuses on his school life.

And the MC is a mental retard or atleast denser than a neutron star. 8 yrs of marriage, wife never slept with him and he never got the hint that she didnt even like him, even in his death he said I though u loved me, didnt realise she hated him after she shot him [ what happens in story- unless changed ]

And this isnt some **** thing ,,,no they are mature adults and MC dosnt have any mental illness. so he is just stupid. this cant even be passed off as disillusion of a yandere lover cause if she disliked the MC this much why the fk wouldnt u not notice? for 8 yrs? does not make sense.

suggestion.. instead of focusing on the the social life, etc focus on the MC himself and his actual planning and execution and use of future knowledge to do things and show this. the planning, execution, process, etc. And try to mature the MC. he honestly feels like some pre t.een
rather than an *****. the face slapping moments and him feeling better than kids all way younger than him makes more apparent.

I read this couple months ago here...same author?

**: that story had a pretty stupid moment where no one recognized him after he cut his hair. and it was soo exaggerated and focused on. the couple chps after the hair cut were all about the people not realizing its him or chicks getting wet over him. so forced. Hair cuts change people , definitely agree....but to this extent where the mother, father and brother dosnt realize? so stupid [ and this is why I remember this bk and am asking whether u are the same author, if u are, do avoid this moment ]
