But for me, it just didn't work. I did have to push myself to finish it because it didn't feel right to drop it. Especially when compared to other mangas I've deemed not worth reading and abandoned.
Let me start by saying the main character is terrible. In fact, almost all the characters are awful—not due to their design, but because of their personalities. The protagonist constantly makes poor decisions, the teacher is irritating at times, and the main character often forces himself on the teacher.
Another issue that needs mentioning is the completely unnecessary love triangle. This is something that bothers me about many mangas and even a fair share of anime. They create characters who pursue the male lead, and initially, I thought this was going to be a simple romance story between the teacher and student. But then it fell apart. It should have been solely between these two characters. Instead, we're introduced to more and more individuals.
The one I want to highlight most is the student president. She's one of the kindest girls and would make a great main love interest in another story. However, here she's forced to like the main character, even though the audience already knows she won't end up with him.
It's frustrating because we often see nice, good characters reduced to nothing more than fan service or throwaway roles.
I could elaborate on how this was a disappointment, but I don't want to be here all day. Overall, it's just an average story with nothing particularly good happening. I'd recommend "Unbalanced x3" instead—it's much better.
I really enjoyed this manga. If I were to review it without my bias, I'd probably give it a solid 8 or even an 8.5 (okay, my bias is creeping in; fine, I can't give it a completely unbiased score). My final score for this manga is 10. I'll try to keep this review/opinion brief.
Story
It’s a romance between a student and a teacher, along with the challenges they face together. The story is well-written, filled with many plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. It combines elements of harem, ecchi, and romance, with some fight scenes as well. However, I wish there had been more action. The characters' backstories, especially the male lead's, could have been explored further. Additionally, while the ending wasn’t bad, it felt a bit rushed for me.
Art
The art is excellent. There’s not much else to say—most ecchi manga tend to have great art (obviously to highlight the female characters' beauty).
Characters
The two main characters are fantastic. They don’t become annoying as the series progresses, which is a relief. Some side characters, though, do get repetitive in their attempts to express their love, making them somewhat irritating. The main male lead isn’t weak—he has manliness and backbone, and he’s not all talk. The main female lead is also well-developed.
Enjoyment
I absolutely loved it and gave it a 10. It was difficult to stop reading until I reached the very end.
Conclusion
This manga isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s still excellent. Again, my bias influenced my scoring. Please share your feedback on how I can improve my reviews. Thanks!
Unbalance x Unbalance is a school-based ecchi romance comedy with elements of drama. At first glance, it seems like just another average title in its genre, filled with clichés, but then it surprises you with its characters, pacing, and unexpected moments that make it genuinely enjoyable to read.
Our protagonist, Myung Jin-Ho, is a lazy guy, much like myself, but he's incredibly kind and also a total badass. His life philosophy is superior, albeit twisted and chaotic—some might say unbalanced—but above all, it's fascinating. When someone hurts his friends, he goes into a berserk mode and resolves the situation without hesitation. Whether it's a little girl or anyone else, he eliminates the threat and moves on. I have to admit, I admire that about him. Most of the situations he faces are intense, emotional, and gripping, reminiscent of Great Teacher Onizuka's presence. Everyone knows Onizuka is one of the best characters ever, right? The atmosphere in these scenes makes even seasoned readers break a sweat.
Hae-Young Nah is far from being dull or ordinary; she's an intriguing female character. Plus, she has large breasts. She goes through some intense and dramatic experiences, revealing the complexity of her personality. Her character development is quite impressive. What makes Unbalance x Unbalance unique is how two completely different characters build their relationship. The author skillfully connects their lives and shows how much they influence each other.
However, the awesomeness doesn't last until the end. The manga falters in its final volume. The mangaka seems to have become as lazy as me and the MC. The writing becomes absurd during the last chapters, the characters start acting out of character, and the ending feels rushed and forced. The manga fails to deliver a satisfying conclusion, leaving the reader unrewarded. Giving it a higher rating would feel like deceiving both myself and others.

I received a recommendation and decided to give this manhwa a try. I certainly didn't regret that choice.
The story grew increasingly captivating as the male lead, Jin-ho, pursued his love interest, his teacher Hae-young.
He isn't indecisive like so many other male leads in romance manga; he's not a weak or timid protagonist (as seen in numerous shonen/seinen romances), nor does he constantly switch between girls (a common trope in this genre).
In short, I'm thrilled I decided to pick up this manhwa.
That said, I only recommend this title to those seeking a strong, heartfelt romance that requires thought and patience. You won't find excessive ecchi scenes like in "To-Love-Ru," nor will you encounter consistent comedy.
You'll either adore or detest this manhwa.
For me, it's a solid 10/10.

After finishing this manghwa, I found myself searching high and low for another manga or manghwa that could offer the same level of enjoyment and satisfaction, but so far, nothing has come close.
Reading UxU will undoubtedly leave you on the edge of your seat. The main characters are rich with depth, making them truly memorable. UxU defies categorization as a typical manghwa; it stands out with its unique storyline and progression.
It's an incredibly engaging read, boasting an excellent plot and well-developed characters. The ending feels just right, perfectly wrapping up the story.
I won't divulge any details about the story because doing so would rob you of the excitement and thrill of discovering it yourself.
I can assure you, you will not regret investing your time in this manghwa.
