Another issue I have with novels is when the author spends excessive time, around 30%, describing characters' looks, particularly their attractiveness. This repetition becomes unnecessary and distracts from the plot.
Though I appreciate the ML's affectionate nature towards the MC, it feels somewhat forced. Perhaps I missed something, but ML's sudden display of sweetness struck me as incongruous.
What sets this particular book apart is its concise length and the thoughtful avoidance of the clichéd third-wheel character. The entire narrative remains consistently enjoyable without dragging on unnecessarily. The author deserves praise for maintaining a balanced and engaging fluffiness throughout the story. Kudos to them!
Jing Jiren, the agent, stands out as my favorite character - he's the one who inadvertently becomes an observer of their story. While there isn't much character growth or a significant plot arc, the ML's feelings for the MC aren't delved into deeply. The synopsis initially hinted at a scandal or secret, but it turns out to be more subtle than expected. There's no major揭露 or revelation in the end.
