A wicked mother one day brought home a girl.
The child was the hidden legitimate daughter of the duke, the heroine of [The Duke’s House Has Three Sons and One Daughter] Loretta.
I was Melody, the villainous girl who tormented her and was condemned along with my mother.

Not wanting to die like that, I decided to start treating her well now.
I personally fed Loretta, put her to bed, and played with her.
And then her reaction was…?

“I want Melody to marry me!”

Caught off guard by her endless affection, I too ended up entering the duke’s family,

“I’ll stick right by Miss Melody’s side.”

And there, it seems I’ve met a young lord who’s an even bigger ‘Melody fool’?

All I did was be kind to survive, but why am I being loved…?!

It’s a short and nice story. I feel like this could have been longer but that’s just my opinion. The ending wasn’t trash like other novels because it ends how you expect to end. It was a nice read, romance was not bad, but it is a small part so if you’re reading this for that then you will be disappointed.

First of all, it's very well written though I would say it's a tad bit wordy in the beginning.P.S We are both writing a similar types of story so I felt it would be cool to share some ideas. If you wanna connect send a req at my discord.Best of luck mate

Everything is almost told in narrative and summarized. There no character sheet or stats ever shown even though this is vr novel. No real character development or understanding at all. I read to chapter 4 and curious if the rest of the book was like this. So I skimmed up to chapter 10 and there was no difference. At this point I drop it, since most original story had move character development and explanation behind the mc abilities in 2 characters compared to this. No real explanations behind how the vr game system works or about even the mc.

Like others have said, the translation quality is borderline trash. It really feels like MTL that was lazily edited. Other than that, the story itself is quite good. Decently paced, a little bit like slice of life, but with an immortal protagonist fumbling his way through traditional cultivation. So far, it doesn't seem like there will be any outrageous xuanhuan tropes, so I'm hoping this gets selected. It's a great change of pace.

The writing skill is impressive, how the author explains the fight scenes is admirable for as the reader you can see the image depicted by the author. And I love the whole fight arena sequel it reminds me of "The hunger games". It's a unique book to read and there are few books like this one that draws the reader into the Authors world. Keep on writing, loving it so far.

I wanna like this story but there is next to no story development and frankly there is not a single character that I genuinely like, just ones I dont hate... or well, really hate. I definitely wanna mention that it's fine to have a main character start out weak, but it's extremely frustrating to read a story in which the character is set up to fail and be made a mockery of around every corner no matter what he does. This was especially unfortunate at one point where th mc used his brain to set up a trap just to fail at the last second for a totally avoidable reason that came out of nowhere. In 80 chapters we got one sneak peak into what's special about him and will presumably help him become strong at some point, but even then the focus was much more on how that ability is limited instead of how the mc will build up on that ability. Which I feel is just not enough to balance out the frustration that builds up while reading. Now at the end I wanna say that I do feel like the author is improving and the story might very well get more engaging at a later point but you might wanna start reading from chapter 50 like suggested because before that point it is genuinely jarring to read, not because of grammar or anything but because of the above mentioned reasons.

The story feels very underwhelming; most interactions  feel unrealistic. Additionally, the English not being good just  adds to the incongruity of the book. If the author really wants to improve, he/she should picture his/her own interactions with people and ponder if the ones present in the book feel normal. The MC also heavily lacks initiative/focus, even after understanding his ability somewhat and how to progress it. Anyways, good luck improving.
