Aria Monroe’s life was supposed to be simple, get through each day, untouched by the entanglements of wealth and power that ruled the world of the elite.

But one mistake, one drunken night, led her straight into the arms of Carter Montgomery, a man known not for his kindness, but for his perverse appetites and ruthless control.

The rumors didn’t do him justice.

Carter Montgomery wasn’t just cold, he was calculating, his piercing gaze stripping her bare as though she were a possession to be broken, reshaped, and owned.

When a mistaken pregnancy diagnosis forces her into an unwanted marriage, Aria learns the hard way that Carter’s love is nothing short of a trap.

Rules dictate her life now, cruel, unyielding rules that strip her of freedom and test her sanity:

1. Speak only when spoken to.

2. Obey every command without question.

3. Your body belongs to me, no resistance allowed.

Defiance earns punishment, bruising punishments that leave her torn between fury and a shameful, forbidden desire.

Yet, even as she fights against him, she can’t deny the way his touch burns or how his cruel words pierce something deep inside her.

When her first love resurfaces, the cracks in Carter Montgomery’s carefully curated control begin to show.

Secrets emerge, dark, ugly truths that explain his obsession with her.

But no matter how far she tries to run, Carter always finds her, dragging her back into his twisted embrace.

Determined to break free, she demands a divorce.

But Carter simply smirks, his voice dripping with finality: “Montgomery family descendants never divorce.”

Trapped in a marriage she cannot escape and a love she cannot resist, Aria must navigate a treacherous path of lies, desire, and a haunting realization: she might not want to leave after all.

The character of Nico and the way she interact with the MC is confusing. It give the impression she is the MC. The MC is supposed to be reincarnated but he forget his memories instantly and she keep hers(that the MC more or less "plunder"). So it gives a portrayal of Nico way more impressive that of MC (kinda feels like neo-feminism to me).Not to sound sexist or myso but if u pick a story with a male lead to have the FMC in all point equal or even superior u better read a strory with female lead. Must we male feel pathetics and inferior even in novels now to suit the social trent?

it time skips to the most interesting points, the mc is a different breed than other mcs, he is op, but he is neither an overbearing young master nor a hermit. he does keep, but he doesn't hesitate to use his power to protect what is important to him. it's similar to a my bestfriend is the mc type, with his junior sister being the mc.

As someone who caught up to the most recent chapter , this novel is decent . it has a great concept but its poorly executed. This is the type of novel you read when you are bored and dont think too much into what you read. Also the fight scene are below average at best. The concept of laws were annoying. The author keeps mentioning laws but never explains what they are or how they help in battles. There are different levels of laws but its never explained why a heavenly law is better than an earthly laws. All we know is the heavenly laws are better and that’s it. The avatar art is never truly explained . All i know is that he makes avatars and the benefits are increased qi reserves, improved comprehension speed and the all share the same mind, so they are share the same techniques. But whats confusing is how they are made and why can’t high level Martial artist tell that the person they are talking to is an avatar. Also when the avatars cultivates their bodies, is the same benefits shared with the rest of the avatars or with just the main body.Like i said great concept , terrible execution . READ ONLY IF YOU ARE BORED.
