“If we want people in this world to live in the sun and stay sane, we would have to keep the populace in the dark about secrets that shouldn’t be known to them.”
“Because, once they see the horrors that cannot be explained by existing science, they would discover the horrors of this world….. Believe me, the earth will become the largest madhouse in the universe.”
Chen Idle of the Ninth Secret Bureau

The scene where their branch is attacked and his friends are caught off guard without proper weapons, despite knowing the danger, is infuriating. It's hard to comprehend how a character capable of incredible feats could be kidnapped simply due to one person's oversight and another leaving their weapon behind, especially after the main character warned them to be cautious. I loathe this type of plot device used to manipulate the protagonist's emotions.
Additionally, there's Li, a character who is supposedly both a gentleman and arrogant. The translation might have lost some nuance, but I've decided to stop reading at this point, despite being halfway through. The story is starting to grate on my nerves, and I need to move on.
