Yu Ran walked into a café, the wind chimes making a crisp sound. The sleepy female owner looked up at her.

The first second their eyes met; Yu Ran’s heart skipped a beat. It had been a long time since she felt such a rush of emotions.

Yu Ran was certain that she had fallen in love at first sight with the café owner.

The owner had a pure and lovely appearance, and when she handed over the coffee, the tips of her ears were red. Yu Ran found her very cute and would come to the café every night after work.

After nearly half a month, she finally mustered the courage to ask, “Can I get to know you?”

The other woman told her that her name was Shen Suhui.

Yu Ran recalled this person, a classmate from the same grade but different class in high school, who wore glasses, was silent, obedient, and not good at speaking, always walking with her head down.

She was always the most inconspicuous presence, very different from now.

Yu Ran smiled, “Then let’s get to know each other again. I want to pursue you!”

ᯓᡣ?

On the eve of high school graduation, Shen Suhui clutched a letter and ran into Yu Ran in the hallway. She instinctively lowered her head to hide her insignificance, forgetting her rehearsed opening line, until Yu Ran walked past her.

During the New Year’s Day in her freshman year of college, Shen Suhui missed Yu Ran too much and went to her school. Yu Ran was hugging another girl, smiling happily.

ᯓᡣ?

Afterwards, through graduation, work, unemployment, and entrepreneurship, she never had any interaction with Yu Ran.

Shen Suhui endured fourteen winters alone.

Until the end of the fourteenth winter, when the café’s wind chimes rang, she looked into those rare, sought-after eyes.

Yu Ran’s gaze was passionate and affectionate as she said to her:

“Can I get to know you?” “I want to pursue you.”

I read this book around the time when I would never write reviews for stories but looking back this is probably one of the favourite stories I've read on this app. I've always liked stories where the main character develops from either emotionless or straight up ruthless into someone who at the very least is kind to the people who they like. I also liked how everything pretty much tied together once the story reached the prologues time. Cant say that the grammar was always perfect, but I also can't really remember that all too well.

grand stories with grand background. But hampered by lack of ending development as even on the tail end of the novel novelist still introducing next level cultivation and forgetting early novel plot points.

This story has a unique beginning, MC background is, unlike any other novel MC who has a good start, starts from letterly zero.Orphan, no cultivation AT ALL, no knowledge on how to advance and get stronger. With only 1 thought he had, he start a long journey as a mortal to travel from his village to a 3rd rate sect that basically accept trash people and mortals as long as they pay.thats where he starts his martial journey, and boy, so far the storyline is great!

"The Netherworld King's long grey hair fluttered despite the lack of wind"I really don't understand why the author must write this line in prologue chapter. from my understanding, this netherworld king is a skeleton figure. so, where are those hairs attached in his head? did they grow in the bone skull? Did hair suppose to grow and attached in the scalp?

The information given in the book was very good for young and awe-inspiring writers, and it would be one of the most helpful sources. I am an author myself, and I liked the overall impact. Arigato!

I read till 20 chapters & don't feel like wanting to read more. Author doesn't have a writing style, the way things are described lack creativity. Its too linear where A does B and C happens because of D. Also author seems to use capitals often to empathize emotions like anger, suprise, focus. That's not a good way to write, it feels dull when you're reading it. Characters also lack dimension and don't feel real. MC is just a kid who cried when leaving but somehow adapts to new life really soon without visible change on his mentality. Also I doubt he learned to swear in orphanage but somehow knows how to while training? When kids are hurt they mostly go ouch with teary eye, they don't swear and fight back, thinking logically. He can't develop strong mentality in just few days after leaving orphanage. The way story is told and unfolded to readers need lot of improvement, I suggest author to do research in that area. Good luck.

I'm enjoying the story so far. The fight scenes are well written and enjoyable. The MC isn't OP and actually fights intelligently. I'm excited to see how the story develops in the future.
