A delightful, hilarious, and relaxing tale of four art students.

At first glance, you might detect a similar vibe to K-On!: the lives of a group of girls with a subtle hint of yuri, 4-koma humor, and hardly any boys in sight. Up to that point, it seems familiar. But let's move past those comparisons because this manga truly shines on its own.

What sets this manga apart is its humor—it never grows old and always leaves me laughing, no matter how many times I re-read it. Take your time, get comfortable, start reading, and prepare to laugh your heart out. The humor here is exceptional; I've rarely found another manga with such enduring comedy (aside from One Piece). Most regular mangas eventually see their humor fade, giving way to more serious plots. However, Hidamari Sketch never disappoints. Every joke is fantastic. Please, don't ever let the humor end!

Another aspect that impresses me greatly is how entertaining 4-koma manga can be. The author masterfully crafts each short story into just four panels without ever feeling awkward or forced. The pacing remains consistently strong, with later stories connecting seamlessly to earlier ones, all while delivering clever gags. It's truly remarkable.

Now, about the story—your typical slice-of-life narrative, yet it remains engaging and enjoyable. The characters are wonderfully distinct: we have our innocent and adorable protagonist, a tough but intelligent and nurturing senior, a feminine and motherly figure, and an energetic, incredibly talented mood booster. Later, two more characters join the mix—a blunt and honest girl alongside a shy, classic ojou-sama. Their personalities are well-developed, leaving a lasting impression on readers.

Don't expect a heavy, thrilling, or mind-bending storyline in Hidamari Sketch. Instead, you'll find plenty of silly, funny, and heartwarming moments within its pages.
