"And one day for sure it will turn into Eternal Love." This is the best way to describe this manga—a simple yet poignant tale of love that was meant to be and always will be.

As a shoujo manga, it can be challenging to write a decent review because of the predictable nature of such plots. Yes, I agree that shoujo stories often follow familiar patterns, but let's focus on this particular manga: Moe Kare! Written by Ikeyamada Go, it tells the story of a 15-year-old girl named Wakamiya Hikaru, who lives in her own little world, dreaming of finding her prince—the kind who would come to her rescue at any moment, anywhere.

The writer takes us on a journey through various paths of first love, discovering true love, experiencing heartbreak, and ultimately finding someone special. It teaches us about the bittersweet nature of first love and how unforgettable it can be—even when you fall in love again, those initial heart-pounding moments remain etched in your memory.

With numerous events, the feelings of three people intertwine, leading to dramatic situations that culminate in an ending that feels just right.

It’s easy to predict the endings of such mangas, making them effortless to read as they flow smoothly from romance to drama and back, with a touch of comedy sprinkled throughout. Perhaps this is why shoujo manga is so enjoyable to read.

On another note, the manga isn't overly long; it has just enough chapters to tell its charming story. This brevity is a positive aspect because if the story could be told in 30+ chapters without dragging, it avoids becoming boring or repetitive.

Here's a little insight that came to mind when I first read this manga: never look too far because you might be surprised to find someone special right beside you.

First Love, First Meeting

Our heroine, Wakamiya Hikaru, found herself in quite a predicament one day when suddenly, one of her "princes" appeared and saved her, leaving behind a less-than-ideal first impression, earning the nickname "Perverted Prince." The next day, our heroine meets the same guy again... But wait, he acts differently? He doesn't remember anything? And why are his eyes a different color? Thus begins the classic "boy meets girl" scene—arguably the most iconic shoujo trope.

Being Rejected

After meeting her prince and falling in love, things seemed too sweet, so the writer added some bitterness. There were several guys involved, one deeply in love with her despite constant rejection. Yet, love conquers all, and as they say, the best way to heal a wound is with what caused it in the first place.

Getting Accepted, Finding Eternal Love

After countless rejections, one of our protagonists finally gets accepted. "Are you sure? I won't ever let you go again..." This is the sweetest moment in the entire manga, making my heart race with excitement. What made me smile was the heroine's face, radiating the joy of finding true love and realizing that her "prince" doesn't need to be perfect—he was always by her side.

Overall

The writer crafted a story about a 15-year-old girl experiencing her first love, wrapped in sweetness and tinged with tears. It's a straightforward high school romance that escalates into drama and then returns to romance, which is why I call such mangas "escalator type."

An Otaku? Only laid your eyes on 2D hot bishies and such? Don't know love? Knows love? Got love troubles? Experienced love affairs? Caught in a love triangle?

If you can relate to any of those questions above, this manga is probably for you.

STORY: 8/10
The story is pretty cliché. An otaku girl who only had her eyes on anime bishies and knows nothing about love, falls in love with a hot popular guy at school who always saves her. This is a bit over-dramatic for high school romance, yet it might catch your attention. Who wouldn't be interested in reading a story about a normal, unpopular girl who caught the attention of hot and popular boy twins? Then comes a girl who's going to be the villain and steal away the prince. Yeah, most of us might think that these kinds of stories are everywhere. But I can't help myself from wanting to read more. The struggles of the main lead would surely get every girl's attention, making us want to know how she will overcome everything and make the right decisions about love.

ART: 10/10
I gave the art a perfect 10. Who wouldn't love hot bishies drawn by Go-sensei? Her art is probably one of the factors why I love this manga.

CHARACTERS: 9/10
As for the female lead, Hikaru, I like her yet I hate her in a way that she's too shallow-minded, weak, insensitive, and over-dramatic. But that was at first. As the story progressed, the manga shows that she became a pretty strong girl emotionally and mentally. I love how she changed for the better. Unlike those stupid female protagonists that start as weaklings and end as weaklings, it's somehow inspiring to see a girl who strives to fight for her love and happiness. The two male leads are very likable too. At first, I couldn't even choose who's the better guy for Hikaru. Aside from having the same looks *which is a really hot bishie—though I like Arata more*, they truly love the female lead in a way that it can make you feel jealous and wanting someone like them by your side. And for the female antagonist, she's not annoying. I don't know why I feel that way, but Go-sensei didn't make her too bitchy that makes someone want to kill her. *LOL. I guess it's better that way. I don't like antagonists that do something so evil and too unrealistic.*

ENJOYMENT: 10/10
This manga is one of my first few reads, and it really does give me 100% enjoyment. The comedy, the struggles, the heartbreak, and the decision-makings, all these reasons make everything enjoyable for me.

OVERALL: 10/10
I gave this 10. Reading this manga makes me want to go back to my high school days and brings back the memories where I wanted hot bishies falling in love with me. It's sometimes enjoyable and sometimes annoying, but in the end, you can't help yourself from stopping to read.

This is a very good shoujo manga. I am very surprised at how Hikaru has become such a beautiful girl in the manga. The story is engaging, but I don't like the ending, especially regarding Ami, and I feel sad about it. The other person, whose name I won't mention, left me with mixed feelings. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this manga; it's truly excellent, and I have a great love for shoujo manga.

I absolutely loathed it.

Yeah, it was a romance, but the main character was just awful!

She manipulates this guy's feelings and then acts all surprised when he tries to distance himself from her.

How ridiculous!

The manga started off well, but she came across as nothing short of a promiscuous person to me. She couldn't even decide what she wanted while both guys were practically begging for her affection.

She chose the one with the better life initially and kept going back to him, even though she was in a relationship with the other.

The other boy had a tough life and was always lonely, yet she didn't seem to care, even after he confided in her.

That said, the ending was actually pretty decent. I have to admit that. But I didn’t love it or even like it.

I merely tolerated it.

The girl was just downright CRUEL and only cared about her own emotions. She was terrible, and that’s all there is to it.

There's really nothing extraordinary or distinctive about Moe Kare!! It's mostly fluff with a touch of mild to moderate fan service. It's not the type of manga that keeps you on the edge of your seat, but it does have its own charm, I suppose. It's good if you're in the mood for something mindless to unwind at the end of the day.

>Story------------6

The plot is fairly predictable, but that isn't necessarily a negative aspect. It revolves entirely around the love triangle between the main characters and finding ways to get the heroine topless as often as possible.

>Art---------------9

The art was undoubtedly the best part for me. It's very vibrant and aesthetically pleasing. There are plenty of sparkles and big eyes. Definitely my style, but it might not appeal to everyone.

>Characters-----3

Character development is truly where Moe Kare!! falls short. You only learn anything about the three main characters, and even their (rather shallow) backstories have little to no effect on the main storyline, serving more as an excuse for poor behavior. Only one character experiences any significant growth, but you don't actually witness this development.

>Enjoyment----7

Personally, I enjoyed it, though not because it was particularly well-crafted. This just happens to be the kind of shoujo I like to relax with, so I was able to overlook many significant flaws.
