The artwork is commendable, featuring unique and expressive character designs that are both striking and memorable. Additionally, the inclusion of cool robot and futuristic car designs enriches the world-building, complemented by backgrounds that, while minimalist, remain visually appealing. The art is detailed overall, yet there are moments where it feels slightly lacking. Nonetheless, it remains visually pleasing.
The characters develop into intriguing figures, and by the conclusion, I found myself eager to explore more of their stories. This leads to one of the manga's shortcomings. Despite my appreciation for it, I was left craving more content. Each chapter is exceedingly brief, spanning only 8-15 pages, with the entire manga totaling approximately 60 pages.
A short one-shot can be captivating when executed properly, but here, the reader is just beginning to engage with the characters and storyline. After strong introductions, the story abruptly concludes, leaving a desire for continuation that is unfulfilled.
In summary, Route 20 offers a rapid journey through a rich and fascinating world, boasting attractive art and compelling characters. However, it lacks direction and ends without a satisfying conclusion. Its brevity makes it feel like the opening episodes of a longer series that never continued, rendering its positive aspects somewhat disappointing due to their untapped potential.
