"You have lost. Now your life is forfeit." The voice returned. I didn't even turn to look for it, I couldn't, I shouldn't. The flame on each candle grew brighter, smoke and flame began to swirl around me. "You will be punished accordingly." Accordingly? What did that mean? "You have lost the game, but played no tricks. Despite your low odds, you continued. You held onto every hope you had left, and braved through until the end. Your punishment must be relative to your deeds."
That's also why, there was never a God Slayer Mage who actually obeyed a God. The Gods just watched them from their high place, they didn't need to after all.
Pretty good read so far. I was hooked from the very first chapter. The characters surely bring this story to life in a very relatable comedic way. Can’t wait to read more.
As expected from Sandkastle, this book, like her others, is also really good. I love how Zeno is unsuccessfully trying to be unsuccessful—literally failing at failing. I also enjoy the ironic remarks that reflect real-world moments, as well as the funny, offbeat details that aren't directly related to the plot but add to the charm. Her writing style continues to captivate me, blending humor with insightful observations. I can’t wait for the upcoming chapters!
