PITCH PERFECT: The Rise of Marco

The best part about this is the translation, nothing else stands out. 500 chapters in and still not really a cultivation novel. The characters are all stupid to make the main appear smart. The author has definitely not captured what someone who as done “special ops” acts like. While there are a variety of personalities that get involved with that, in my experience there are traits all of them share. The author was unable to capture that mentality in his writing. This a good example of what a translation should be with the quality work the translators do.

I am adding this to my library before author figure out the pairing (Yuri or not) and consider reading or not...I've almost got a heart attack in qidian reading genderbender and then author suddenly(maliciously) add a male lead and got the married (just 4 or 5 chapters before ending and without warning a word. So after you determine the romance please add in the synopsis or release a announcement.(I believe there are other people like me waiting for this too) Thanks for the hard work tho...XD

I've read both this and My vampire system, there's obviously been... inspiration from the latter but to be honest this just has a better story. I MUCH prefer the characters in this novel, even the MC is better in my opinion and all the other characters just mix so well. When reading Vampire System it feels so unnatural at parts and the characters(including mc) seem so half baked to me, while this novel really improves upon that aspect. The ONLY criticism I can call out is the grammar and such, it's obvious English isn't the authors's first language but still fairly better than most out there and there's a clear improvement the further along the story goes. IDK if the author has dropped this or not but I VERY much hope he continues on this some day, I definitely recommend to read this.
