    Such a compelling narrative of a hopeful, hardworking girl! I'm rooting for Diya right from the start. :') Rajeev's actions initially seem cold, but it's evident that he cares about her, even if he doesn't realise it himself!The bond between Diya and little Ved is too sweet. Totally in love with it!

    As someone who reads a couple of these on a regular basis, I feel you should get a fair warning of what you're getting into. These books are light reading of what are essentially power fantasies. The various arcs can roughly be broken down into1)Protagonist offends someone more powerful than him2)Protagonist powers up through training/luck3)Reaction chapters where everyone oohs and ahs over how amazing the protagonist is.It can be fun, it certainly scratches one of my itches, but from a literary standpoint these aren't that much better than something like twilight. Not to knock the authors too much, they're serving a specific audience and pumping out 5,000-10,000 words a day of quality writing is essentially impossible and some do quite well considering that fact. Anyway, if you're looking for fine Chinese fantasy this is not the place to go

    IMO this is a pretty laidback story. Not a serious-type story. Knowing that its a fun story to read.     I like the development between characters as well as the realistic conversations that not all novels would have paid much attention to. The MC is quite decent and likeable. Waiting for more chapters to be released!
