Making myself important: Making myself the protagonist's favorite

Summit, a 30 year old Seon Creature from the ancient clan of Poe, loves to read books.
But he wouldn't expect he would transmigrate right into a book, no less at that.

It was a normal cloudy day in the mountains of PavoClan (means Peacock Clan,) Summit, the one who loves reading books, is transmigrated after a strange hourglass hit him right on the head, into a book that was becoming extremely fun to read (what I need) and it was peak, with so much emotion.
But a dark mystery was behind it.
He never read to that point, so why know it?
Why get killed by a hourglass that should actually do little damage, which, yea, it's quite hard to kill Seon Creatures?
