Story 9
The story isn't particularly unique. Kiibo is a student aspiring to become the world's strongest fighter, ready to challenge anyone holding that title. It portrays his journey as he encounters various obstacles in the form of fighters with diverse styles. Trained by his father in Nadashinkage-ryu (his family's martial arts), his path is filled with trials and tribulations.
Art 9
The art style may be a bit dated, but it remains impressive. Honestly, considering when it was created, it holds its own against recent fighting mangas. The fight scenes are vividly depicted, dialogues are effectively showcased, and gory moments are handled skillfully. You won't find much to complain about regarding the art style.
Character 9
Koukou Tekken-den Tough features a range of characters with distinct backgrounds. The protagonist is a determined student who refuses to back down, even in the face of death. He's stubborn, humorous, and eager to learn new techniques to defeat his opponents. This fighting manga focuses heavily on combat, so character backstories aren't deeply explored, but they're sufficient for readers to grasp each character's motivations. The psychology of the characters is examined, and there's clear character development.
Enjoyment 10
If you're into action-packed mixed martial arts, you'll definitely enjoy this manga. I'm surprised no one has reviewed it yet—it's truly fantastic. In my opinion, if you consider Holyland great, Koukou Tekken-den Tough stands on the same level (though that's just my take).
Overall 9
Not bad for my first review, right? The fight scenes are thrilling. Kiibo's funny expressions and actions bring laughter. His interactions with friends and family add depth. His knack for exploiting an enemy's weaknesses through clever dialogue is entertaining. Man, Koukou Tekken-den Tough is genuinely excellent. If you're not satisfied, join the bandwagon of readers to discover what more you desire. Cheers!
