Okay so I've ran into this many many times. Didn't start reading it. I always left it in the list of "read this at some point". I regret the amount of trash I looked through...when I could have started reading this. The beginning of the story is very enjoyable but compared to the rest of the story it feels lackluster. I love the jokes. Sure I was sleep deprived when I first started reading but the comedy is most certainly not lacking. The world of the story and the connections etc are extremely fitting. It is all somewhat chaotic but I enjoy it. The characters are...well they're characters. They aren't all just carbon copies of each other. There's actual substance. If they're presented with a choice they make one that fits them and their situation. They make choices based on things within their realms of understanding. If you see someone arguing in a bar, you'll probably think "At best they know how to fight. Laws do in fact exist...they might kill but yea". That is thinking in your realm of understanding. If one person suddenly burns people into ashes your logical side might be like "I stand corrected. That mfing dude just used some magic fire bs...I surrender." Also the cliches are pointed out and such, which always feels nice. Even if that in and of itself is a cliche.I wrote a good bit but still feels like I haven't said enough. Just read it. I suggest reading at least 20-30 chapters before passing any judgment. Obviously your time and your choice but if you enjoy op characters and comedy then I suggest sticking around.
You know what is coming with a story like this. Racism. Doesn't even make it 20 chapters before it starts so you know it is going to be wild ride. Not sure why China is by far the worst when it comes to this. It's not just patriotism it's racism and a everyone not from China is a terrible evil person in most of these types of novels and they are so common.
You should read this story. Very nice characters. Nice setting. Nice storyline. Everything is nice in the story. I hope that this will be different than the other novels. And also for xpxp I need them. Keep up the good work author. Hope you gain a contract.
Brilliant, just brilliant. The story is pure gold.First, the MC is said to have blurry memories of his past life and is not transmigrated so he doesn't have an earthling personality and it's good. Maybe that detail will be important later but so far it only explains his better divine sense than other. I actually forget about it.And because he is not from Earth, his personality is really good. He is crafty, he is bold and he knows to use his head. I really love the MC.He is not perfect, he has weak spiritual roots and a weak body. And he won't miraculously change that. They will be a problem all story long but he focus on his strength (array formation and strong divine sense) to advance and forge a unique path. He is never overpowered compared to other at the same level even if it can be felt sometimes because he knows to use his strong point to win.The thing I really like is all the other characters. They aren't flat with 2d personality. They have depth, they are useful and they aren't discarded like trash when MC is too powerful. Their relationship with each other and the MC made me almost shed a tear at times. And for the story? It starts slow to introduce the characters and the environment but it really picks up fast. You feel quickly there is a huge plot around because the MC is concerned on a local level but the more you learn, the better it becomes.Don't expect quick cultivation level up even if you can feel the MC getting better. The story isn't about his cultivation, it's a real story focused on a plot. The only problem is the MC's gender change with the translation but it's not that annoying because the story is just too good.
