Ken to mahō no tatsujin

WASTED POTENTIAL!!!Though the story is nothing new, the twist of both partners lying to each other was quite interesting. And the story had much potential. However this story was like seeing a beautifully wrapped gift box and getting excited to open it only to find nothing inside. The end was unnecessarily rushed, there was no clarity whatsoever and too many tables were left unturned. It was terribly unsatisfying. The book could and should have been continued rather that giving that sorry excuse of a happy ending. At least the villains should have been made accountable for their actions. Maybe the ending could have been more acceptable. It felt like the writer didn’t feel like writing anymore, so less than half way into the story they conjured a happy ending and said on to the next one. The story is good until chapter 200 where almost all the conflicts are unsolved and you wonder how the writer plans to pact the true story in just 70 chapters. At chapter 250 you realise that this book is merely an empty shell with so much potential that has been lost. The book was filled with unnecessary work place conflicts for Mo Yan, none of which were actually solved in the end. The only pleasing thing about the book was the romance, and even then, most of the romance was based on lies. Was it good, yes it was. But it was also very unsatisfying and I feel very cheated by this book.

Yeah, the story has its moments, like a few of the scenarios are genuinely a good read, but much of it feels like poorly pieced together filler.
