I Got Reincarnated as a Gluttonous King with a System

I was nobody—a faceless drone, slaving away at a meaningless job in the modern world. But fate—or perhaps something far more sinister—had other plans. In a next few moments, chaos engulfed me. Assassins came attacking me, and before I even get to scream, a voice in my head whispered to me: Skill Activated: Gluttony.

When I woke up, I was covered in their blood, their strength flowing through my veins, and a glowing status window hovered before my eyes. It said one thing: in this world, power isn't earned—it's taken.

But death is far from being the end for me. Each time I die, I revert to the same damned moment of rebirth—becoming the dead king once again. Wielding the skill Gluttony and replete with experience garnered through multiple lives, I vow to cut out my path towards survival.

The kingdom I now rule teeters on the brink of collapse, plagued by treacherous nobles, ancient grudges between races, and whispers of a Demon King's impending invasion. It's clear what I'm here to do: unify the races, strengthen the kingdom, and uncover the mystery of why King Alaric—and now I—was marked for death.

Every death teaches me something new. Each enemy I slay adds their strength along with their memories into mine. But the stronger it gets, the less one can control and harness it. More so, with each successive life taken, the hunger gains momentum.

Can an ordinary nobody like me, a man, really be the king this broken world needs? Or will I lose myself to the darkness within before the final battle even begins? One thing’s for certain: I’ll die trying. Again. And again.
