I Fell for the Temptation of the Evil Crown Prince

This is my first-time writing a review, and I'm quite surprised by the low ratings for this book. I wholeheartedly adore it and would highly recommend it. The female lead (FL) feels very real and relatable to me. The male lead (ML) is genuinely exceptional - he's considerate, always asking for consent, and they both acknowledge their feelings quickly, without typical excuses.

This novel perfectly captures the essence of a relationship built on mutual consent and love. The intimate scenes are steamy and consensual, ensuring the characters' well-being is never compromised.

The FL's backstory is powerful - growing up in an abusive household as the black sheep due to gender discrimination. It adds depth to her character, and though she faces challenges, she displays resilience and evolves into a strong, relatable lead. As the story progresses, she gains confidence as the crown princess.

As for the male lead, at first, his playful nature might seem annoying, but he truly shines as the sweetest ML I've come across. His actions are always respectful, and he openly expresses his love for the FL, setting him apart from other MLs I've encountered.

The FL's family dynamics are complex. Her father and eldest brother receive mixed feelings from me. Her father's behavior is despicable, while her brother, Louis, starts off as an enigma but eventually learns to empathize. Theo's character is a bit ambiguous, redeeming himself later in the story.

In summary, despite the flaws in the FL's family, the book is a delightful read. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a beautiful, consent-driven romance. The characters are endearing, and the story is worth every page.

I've always had a fondness for this novel, and the chemistry between the main characters is truly captivating. Their relationship is filled with goals and growth. The male lead's enthusiasm is endearing, as he constantly shows consideration for his love's feelings and ensures they're both on the same page. He's honest, sweet, and the one who initiates declarations of love. He never pressures her and respects her pace, which is a refreshing change. I'm eagerly anticipating the events in this volume.

The start was a bit sluggish (or perhaps the translated chapters were brief), but it's picking up pace now. Initially, I continued reading due to the commendable translation (not all translations from this group are of this quality, so I hope they maintain the standard). It was also during the early stages, and I'm glad I persevered. The plot is still in its infancy, but thus far, it appears promising – it doesn't rely on an instant love explosion. The male lead might come across as unlikable at first, but he hasn't coerced the female lead into any actions.

I appreciate the concept and the characters in this story, but as I progress, I'm unsure if I'll continue. I've given it a 3 out of 5 because there's potential for improvement. The excessive focus on non-consensual, aggressive sexual encounters, especially where the woman is repeatedly dominated by the supposed love interest, raises concerns. It's not what I was expecting from a "smut" label, and this type of portrayal doesn't appeal to me.

I hope for the characters to communicate openly and healthily, without expecting the女主角, who has experienced abuse, to instantly trust and feel secure. The current treatment, where he isolates her and threatens to leave if she doesn't迎合 him, fuels her trauma rather than healing. The "obsessive love" tag can encompass a broader range of emotions, without resorting to controlling and abusive behavior.

The story had a promising start, and I genuinely wanted it to explore a different side of that theme. Unfortunately, the current direction detracts from its potential.

I cannot praise this highly enough; it was an absolute 10 out of 10 in my opinion. The main character (ML) was domineering, but only towards the female lead (FL), who actually enjoyed his possessiveness - he was a delightful green flag. I adore how intense and charming, yet respectful, he is with her. He never pushes her beyond her limits, which makes their relationship unique. Now, Cecil has become one of my favorite MLs.

The FL was not annoying, and I appreciated her decisiveness. She knew what she wanted and pursued it without hesitation or self-doubt. She wasn't your typical overbearing female lead, but she was powerful in her own way.

The steamy scenes were exceptional, as evidenced by the glimpse we got from the first chapter. [SPOILER ALERT] The rest of the story started at chapter 45.

The storytelling was intriguing, but the chapters were quite brief, leaving me wanting more. Thank you for the fantastic translation; it was a pleasure to read! 💖
