It is very different from Er Gen, or most xianxia novels. It is mostly centered on humor, and the MC has ridiculous levels of plot armror. But that is part of the fun. Personally, it's one of my favorite novels of all time. But don't expect a classic xianxia.

Essentially, "The Eldest Martial Sister Gave Up Treatment" (shortened as "Eldest Sister") has been replicated. The story involves a villainess who dies and gets sent back in time, but instead of reliving her life, a modern man (the protagonist) finds himself possessing her body and memories. While the writing is decent, providing light entertainment, it closely resembles "Eldest Sister" without matching its quality or engagement. I stopped reading after Chapter 16 due to several reasons:

    1. The system forcing the protagonist to commit evil acts, which felt forced and lacked a logical explanation. In "Eldest Sister," the system made sense since the world was based on a game.

    2. The system repeatedly prompts actions that go against the villainess's character, such as pushing other females and forcing intimate situations, which felt contrived.

    3. The system's alternatives often seemed predetermined, with the author favoring a specific, comedic choice.

The main difference between the two is that "Eldest Sister" focused more on misunderstandings around the character Bai Lian, whereas this adaptation emphasizes the antagonist's negative traits for romantic plot purposes.

Given my limited experience (I only read up to Chapter 16, which is one of 1120 chapters), my review might not be comprehensive. If you're curious, you might want to give it a try, as the story might evolve differently later on.

Before diving into the manga, make sure to check the genre first: Y-A-O-I, also known as boy love, a category centered around male-to-male romance. Got it? So, please don't go around trashing this manga and creating pointless forums like "It was gross, didn't read the genre before I started, oops." With that said, yaoi haters, feel free to move along.

The story itself is fairly straightforward, not overly impressive or deserving of excessive praise, but I still rated it a 9 and took the time to write a review. I simply adored how the relationship developed. Even though it's just a one-shot, it felt more than satisfying. I think this approach works best to prevent an overload of unnecessary plotlines that could detract from the charm of a sweet yaoi manga. The *cough* scenes weren't mind-blowingly intense (though they were definitely hot) and won't leave you breathless, but the artwork fits the tone perfectly. One aspect I particularly appreciated was that the uke wasn't girly in the slightest (shoutout to the anti-girly uke club), though he does have his moments of cuteness. The seme, being a famous male actor, comes across as quite the charmer. From the very beginning, this manga had me hooked—those early pages are guaranteed to elicit a squeal. I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Ja-ne~!
