The translation quality, however, is excellent. Here's a brief summary of the story up to Chapter 22:
Our male lead (ML) is the classic 'dense but incredible' type, destined to marry our MC. Unfortunately, their journey isn't smooth, as the MC's reputation is tarnished with an 'adultery' rumor linked to the ML, orchestrated by a 'white lotus.' Her family disapproves and pushes for the marriage, leaving her disrespected and unwilling to fight back or clear her name. It seems like the author uses this situation to move the plot forward, but it's frustrating for readers like me.
I apologize if my frustration comes across as disrespectful, but everyone's taste varies. Ultimately, a book's quality shouldn't be determined solely by one person's opinion. Enjoyment is subjective, so I'll leave it at that.
I have immense respect for those who managed to make it past chapter 40. The protagonist's愚蠢 and illogical decisions drive me crazy. It's as if she hasn't grown up at all; instead, she behaves like a petulant child, despite supposedly being an adult transmigrated into a 13-year-old's body. At this point, I seriously doubt it's an adult who has transcended; it feels more like a child.
I've come across numerous disappointing transmigration stories, but this one ranks among the worst I've ever read. I strongly dislike protagonists like this one.
Nonetheless, I'm giving the book only two stars. First, credit to the translators for their hard work, but the content itself is subpar. Second, I'm congratulating myself for reaching chapter 70. Honestly, if possible, I'd rate it zero stars.
The male lead (ML) pretends to be mentally challenged for ten years, with a significant plot twist when he reveals his true abilities. Though it has consequences, the revelation isn't overly impactful due to FL's awareness and ML's eventual证明。 He is devoted to FL.
Their relationship starts as a playful bickering couple, with ML showing affection towards FL, who is initially unaware. They eventually become intimate after marriage, but their development could have been more substantial. The story's title may mislead, as FL isn't ML's fiancée until near the end, despite initial expectations.
Villains are one-dimensional, and supporting characters are underdeveloped. Some characters remain resentful because of FL's past behavior as a 3-year-old, but they are amazed by her transformation later. The story is relatively mild on conflict compared to others in its genre, and FL doesn't engage in elaborate schemes or seek revenge.
While the overarching plot could be intriguing, the main antagonist's lack of intelligence slows down the narrative. I found myself skimming parts. Overall, it's a decent read if you're looking for something light and uneventful.
The climax, though, felt a bit unnecessary with the introduction of a new villainess, causing the main antagonist to fade into the background. The ending seemed rushed, with some key moments needing more development to provide a satisfying conclusion. Despite these minor drawbacks, I found the story engaging enough to stay up until 2 AM to finish it and even write this review. Overall, it was a solid read that kept me hooked.
FL's behavior doesn't reflect a mature woman trapped in a teenager's body; it remains similar to her original self. It appears as if her intellect didn't change along with her physical appearance. Her actions throughout the story are hard to justify, especially since she seems to lack clear motivation for most of her decisions.
The relationship dynamics between ML's younger brother and his consort seem to hint at a potential love interest, but there's no solid development or resolution in this regard.
In summary, the ending is a disappointment, with too much condensed into a single chapter, feeling forced and contrived. Despite its good translation, the story as a whole is destined for the trash bin. Thank you to the translator for their efforts, though.
