Grim Reaper's Missing Scythe

Zhuxen has it all—beauty, brains, and an entire army of lovestruck billionaires’ sons at her feet. But there’s just one tiny problem: she’s hopelessly, irrevocably in love with a man who may not even exist.

According to her grandmother’s tales, a mysterious, otherworldly man once saved her from death, capturing her heart in the process. Inspired (or perhaps delusionally obsessed), Zhuxen spends her life throwing herself into the most ridiculous dangers imaginable—tripping down staircases, "accidentally" standing in the middle of busy roads, and even challenging an angry swan to a duel—all in hopes of meeting her fated, mythical savior.

But no matter how hard she tries, someone always rescues her first. Until one day, after the dumbest near-death experience yet, she finally meets him: Thanatos, the harbinger of death himself. There’s just one problem—he looks nothing like her grandmother described. Instead of the brooding, smoldering Grim Reaper of her dreams, he’s... well, kind of scruffy, grumpy, and honestly a little unimpressed with her life choices.

Worse, Thanatos isn’t here to save her—he’s here to collect her. Zhuxen is officially dead. Game over. Or so she thinks.

Refusing to accept her fate, Zhuxen demands that Thanatos return her soul to her body. Easy fix, right? Wrong. There’s a slight problem… Thanatos lost his scythe. The only thing that can take or return a human soul.

Now, stuck in limbo with a clueless Grim Reaper and a rapidly decomposing body, Zhuxen has no choice but to help Thanatos track down his missing scythe before she becomes permanently ghosted. Along the way, they’ll have to deal with black-market soul traders, bureaucratic afterlife nonsense, and the occasional angry ex-mortal who really doesn’t like being dead.

A laugh-out-loud fantasy, romantic comedy about fate, death, and the absurdity of the afterlife—because when it comes to love, Zhuxen is dying to make it work.
