"You can definitely enjoy the story; it's well-written with an engaging plot. However, I must caution you to set aside any preconceived notions about the original prince. Dismissing him might hinder your appreciation of this tale. The main character (MC) unfairly criticized the original soul, subjected to mistreatment and neglect from the love interest (ML) from a young age. It breaks my heart to imagine their unavenged sufferings. A重生并夺回自我身躯的剧情线将会是一个精彩的副故事。”

I absolutely adore this series. Initially, I stumbled upon it during my intensive manga-reading phase. Although I didn't particularly enjoy the artwork, the storyline captivated me. Back then, reincarnation and穿越题材尚未像现在这样流行。

Due to the limited availability of manga translations, I switched to the novel, which I found quite appealing. However, I couldn't say I adored the main character - he's a bit too self-centered, despite his intelligence and wit. In the first chapter, his high demands almost turned me off.

Nonetheless, the overall story and its themes, especially The Art of War, more than made up for it. The series has a profound impact on me. Despite occasional moments where the MC's behavior frustrates me, I still appreciate the depth of the narrative.

This review is coming from someone who read the series years ago, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. In conclusion, this series is truly exceptional, and I am a big fan of the male lead!

To understand this story, it's crucial to recognize that depicting abuse isn't inherently negative. In fact, dismissing it with a single-star rating because of its portrayal in the main couple's dynamic misses the entire point. I believe this narrative inadvertently showcases abuse and toxic relationships in a unique way, involving the main couple, a secondary relationship, and minor characters.

The book presents an under-explored depiction where the abuser is the love interest, not the villain. However, there's a disclaimer: due to the presence of rape tags, the content might be considered casually graphic.rape is portrayed more as a loss in a power struggle, rather than a devastating trauma, and even used as a form of manipulation. Victim-blaming is also present, as seen when a strong character endures rape, has a child, and faces blame from various parties.

If the main relationship causes discomfort, that's a sign of discernment, revealing the dark foundation beneath their seemingly loving facade. Despite attempts to sugarcoat it with excessive devotion, the story effectively demonstrates that abuse remains abuse, demonstrating through actions rather than explicit declarations.

A recurrent theme is the MC's regression into vulnerability whenever around the ML, highlighting the impact of abuse and the complicity of others in enabling the abuser. The MC's character arc, oscillating between strength and helplessness, makes them both horrifying and fascinating.

I call it 'accidentally brilliant' because perhaps the author didn't intend for this, thinking more of a romance or erotica. Yet, the obliviousness to the abuse becomes a realistic portrayal of the mindset of an abuse victim, despite unintentional.

For those who appreciate exploring red flags and their intensity, this story offers a treasure trove. However, if a well-developed plot and nuanced storytelling are your priority, I'd suggest looking elsewhere, as this novel may fall short in those aspects.

Please don't judge this story hastily! In my opinion, those who gave it a 1-star rating might have been too quick to form an opinion based on the initial chapters. The beginning does present a typical BL tale with elements of rape and Stockholm syndrome, which I can understand might be off-putting, especially considering how the main character's (ML) behavior towards Prince An He seems inconsistent with his later treatment of the protagonist (MC).

It's important to note that the author initially intended to write a simpler story about many characters falling for the MC, but the narrative evolved unexpectedly. The MC's character development is crucial to appreciate; as a 19-year-old who suddenly dies and becomes a prominent figure in ancient China, it's natural for them to exhibit some immaturity at first. But the growth and resilience shown throughout the story are what make it compelling.

I genuinely love this story because of its captivating plot twists and the character development, particularly the MC's resourcefulness using their modern knowledge. Despite the hardships they face, they remain strong and dedicated to helping ML create a harmonious world where social status no longer determines one's fate. The evolving relationship between MC and ML is also a highlight, as they constantly strive to improve for each other.

While the beginning might have been executed poorly, I encourage readers not to abandon the story just yet. The journey is long and emotionally engaging, offering a rewarding experience if given a chance to unfold. So, hang in there and enjoy the ride! 😊

I genuinely attempted to enjoy this, but unfortunately, both the main character (MC) and the love interest (ML) fell short. Feng Ming, at 19 years old with modern knowledge, carries a hint of arrogance. However, his intellectual prowess is lacking; he craves affectionate attention from his rapist and becomes bored enough to invite him over. His ego skyrockets when praised for his contemporary understanding, leading him to condescendingly label古人 (ancient people) as stupid due to his perceived superiority. It's clear he fails to grasp the privilege of living in an era with reliable information. As an example, his so-called brilliance involved grabbing a horse's tail and shouting "He's looking down on me!" when it reared.

Moving on to Rong Tian, the ML, he abuses the prince and exhibits a superiority complex. Surprisingly, he finds himself attracted to Feng Ming, possibly because of Feng Ming's underdeveloped intellect. Considering the amount of time they spend together, I doubt Rong Tian is effectively governing. He seems fixated on world domination, which speaks volumes about his inflated ego. I couldn't help but notice how Rong Tian constantly boasted about the threats against Feng Ming's life, while conveniently forgetting that those threats originated from Rong Tian himself. It's disheartening to see Feng Ming oblivious to this.

SPOILER ALERT: It's revealed that Rong Tian is actually the true prince, mistreating the previous Feng Ming by raping and tormenting him on a whim. One might expect Rong Tian to feel some remorse after the old Feng Ming takes his own life to escape him. Far from it, he even berates the deceased for committing suicide, conveniently placing blame elsewhere. What's more infuriating is that Rong Tian pretends to warn Feng Ming about the dangers he faces, when in reality, Rong Tian was the one who faked Feng Ming's identity to avoid death. It's an astonishing display of audacity.

In conclusion, both characters' flaws and lack of self-awareness made it difficult for me to connect or appreciate their story.

Although I am not proficient in English and struggle with writing a formal review, I felt compelled to express my gratitude for the novel and the translators' hard work, so I went to the extent of creating an account specifically for this purpose. Initially, the main character may seem slightly immature, which I find endearing, considering his transformation into a teenager (or possibly a young adult) and the shocking revelation of the previous owner's traumatic experiences, including rape and sexual abuse by the Reactant King. As the story progresses, both characters develop and the protagonist matures, becoming more thoughtful and adaptable.

What captivates me is the emotional rollercoaster the tale takes me on. This is my first Yaoi novel, and it kept me up late into the night for an entire week just to finish each chapter. Now, having read most of the Yaoi genre available on NovelUpdates, this one remains my absolute favorite.

To everyone reading this, please forgive any typos as I am new to writing reviews.

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to the author of Fengnong. Yuanshu, Churnie, and all the translators of Fengyu, thank you for your hard work.

"Feng Yu Jiu Tian" holds a special place in my heart as the best BL novel I've ever read. This is my fifth time revisiting it up until volume 29, and I absolutely adore the plot and character development, particularly with Ruoyan. It's unfortunate that he is so wronged in the story. Fengnong, your character is just as deserving as our beloved ML, Rongtian. I wished for a thrilling climax where Rongtian and Ruoyan clashed, but the ending in volume 29 left me heartbroken. I crave more of Ruoyan's domineering nature, obsession with Fengming, and their intense dynamic.

Regardless, Fengnong, I beg you to continue writing. Your storytelling is a true gem, and despite not being a regular reviewer, I feel compelled to urge you to keep penning your wonderful works. Your dedication is truly appreciated.

Thank you for your hard work!

I can't deny that this was the initial spark for my interest in Chinese novels. It was my first ever BL novel, but I can't truly claim it as such since I haven't completed it. Four years later, I decided to give it another shot by rereading, but unfortunately, I find it challenging to push through to the end. The storyline is abysmal, the main character comes across as foolish, and the constant changes in the translation team have only made the experience more disappointing.

So far, it's been great! I'm really enjoying the story; the characters are entertaining and engaging. However, I have a question - when I reached Volume 3, Part 5, I noticed that it seemed like I missed some important bits before moving on to Volume 4. Is there a gap or missing chapters that I should be aware of? I'd greatly appreciate any clarification on this matter.

I'm expressing my honest opinion here, and I apologize if it offends anyone, but I feel compelled to say that this novel is truly disturbing. Let me explain why:

    1. The main character starts off as somewhat likable, but his constant complaining becomes unbearable. He turns into a degenerate and foolish victim of Stockholm syndrome, which is deeply concerning.

    2. The male lead, or ML, is utterly despicable. He's a cruel and abusive individual, crossing a line with repeated rapes of both the main character and the original soul. His lack of empathy towards the protagonist's suffering is abhorrent.

    3. The original soul, despite being physically attractive, is portrayed as a spoiled brat with a volatile temper. While it might be understandable for a young, sheltered teenager to have flaws, being repeatedly raped is unjustified and tragic.

    4. The narrative defends the ML's actions by suggesting that the original soul's behavior warranted punishment. However, that doesn't justify the extreme sexual violence inflicted upon him. The character's development into a vengeful, unstable figure is portrayed as charming, which is highly questionable.

    5. The main character takes the stolen identity and completely erases the original soul's existence, essentially using their body for redemption. This trope is infuriating, especially when the main character repeatedly blames the original soul without empathy.

    6. The overall atmosphere of the story is toxic, with everyone involved depicted as morally reprehensible. The original soul deserves better treatment, but instead, he's met with disdain and disrespect even in death.

In conclusion, this novel is not for those who value ethical treatment of characters, especially in cases of sexual assault and abuse. The extreme nature of the main couple's relationship and the lack of compassion for the victims make it difficult to engage with the story positively.

First and foremost, I express my heartfelt gratitude and immense appreciation to both the author and translator for their diligent efforts in creating this delightful story. Thank you so much! (Indonesian readers, let's raise our hands! ^ω^)

Reading through the comments, I couldn't help feeling a bit saddened. It seems there are many who don't particularly like the main character (MC), mainly due to his naivety and occasional carelessness. However, these traits define who Feng Ming is, and that's what makes him unique. Similarly, some don't appreciate the male lead (ML) because of his possessiveness, which might seem suffocating at times. Yet, that's what makes Rong Tian who he is.

I genuinely love every character and their development, even if they have flaws, as these imperfections shape them into their individual selves. I admire the author's vision for their personalities.

I fervently hope that this novel doesn't get discontinued, as I've heard volume 29 is still missing. Sigh... (╥_╥)

In summary, I adore this novel despite not being a fan of heavy political themes. Lastly, I wish everyone could enjoy it and express their critiques and suggestions more respectfully.

Let's not let the author lose motivation; please keep going, dear Master Feng Nong! This is truly a masterpiece! Love you! ^o^

Wishing you all a fantastic day! ^_^
