Elios, a young boy gifted with fire, witnesses the massacre of his parents by the Beasts, a half-human, half-animal race, during the 5th Great Western War. Saved at the last moment, he is taken in by Merlione, a former Beast warrior.

Merlione becomes Elios's mentor, training him in combat and gradually challenging his religious beliefs. Their relationship, initially marked by mistrust, evolves into an unexpected bond.

But one day, during a hunt, Elios is spotted by other Beasts who set off in pursuit of him. The young fire mage now has a target on his back. Elios's fate is about to take a decisive turn.
