As night falls, an unspoken terror quietly spreads. Beneath the surface of this seemingly peaceful city, supernatural occurrences defy scientific explanation—wandering spirits, resurrected curses, lurking creatures from forgotten folklore. Urban legends intertwine with ancient myths, weaving chilling tales that haunt the darkness.
Jamie, a journalist specializing in paranormal investigations, possesses an uncanny sensitivity to the supernatural—an inherited gift bound to a family secret spanning a thousand years. Her closest ally, Sandra, a forensic pathologist grounded in logic and reason, has always dismissed the existence of ghosts. Yet, as she follows Jamie into the heart of these eerie mysteries, her skepticism begins to waver.
Together, they unravel one unsettling case after another, chasing the truth, confronting the unknown, and staring fear in the face. But as their investigations deepen, they uncover something far more terrifying—a sinister conspiracy lurking beneath the surface. An ancient curse, a clandestine organization that manipulates souls, and a mysterious man with the power to command death itself…
The night’s tales never truly end.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me, but I am SaltyTank, the original translator of AD back on Gravity Tales. I have read a few of the comments that seem to bash QI for copying my chapters and making them premium while they are completely free on GT, and thus I would like to give my opinion on what they are doing. Before I continue, do note that I willingly passed over the novel to the current translator and left QI for many reasons that have already been explained on my GT post.QI has all the rights to my chapters (at least up to c90), so technically they're not stealing because I was paid for my work. The only grey area would be c91-96 because I posted them after my GT contract expired and wasn't paid for the work, but the chapters were still copied over (with very minor edits) to QI. I honestly couldn't care less at this point and I would have handed them over anyways if they asked.Regarding the chapters being free on GT, I believe QI was supposed to take down the novel on GT once it hits the QI library, but apparently they couldn't be bothered to do it for some reason. So yes, enjoy the free chapters while it lasts, you never know when they will go down ;)Anyways, that's all I have to say. I'm sure more chapters are on the way, and hope you all enjoy the series even though I no longer work on it. (I'm not a big fan of the premium chapters either welp)0 0 Reply

so only 15 chapters now? first it was 60, then they lowered it to 40, then 20 with 5 every day until 40. I'm guessing they're only gonna give us 30-35 max now.0 0 Reply

This story, among others, reminds me of why I haven’t uninstalled Webnovel. The first couple chapters were albeit a little slow starting out, as is healthy for an introduction. By around chapter 20 I found it hard to put the book down and the entire day, as well as 60 chapters, were gone :(All in all, from around chapter 30, better quality writing than most amazon fantasy authors, and an incredible plot with even better character development. Only downside is that the author can’t write faster than I can read. ;) Great job author!0 0 Reply

Read up to chapter 23 and there had been no chapter where the author hadn't killed me with those cliffhangers. The author seemed to be on a spree with those, while hooking us like an incubus 😐 the characters even side ones are so beautifully developed and the MC slowly battles with his own emotions. Such a fresh book to read with a hybrid mc.0 0 Reply

An interesting story, long chapters, beautiful formulation of the characters, and I must say that the thinking of the characters is beautiful as a beginning of the story. I look forward to more chapters. Keep it up, author.0 0 Reply

Super repetitive plot. Same scenario has being recycled like 15+ times. Most of the time in the same context too. Also, there are quite a few plot holes. 90% of story is competitions in one thing or an other. So don't expect adventure. Most of each chapter is filler exposition that is common in web novels. I skimmed though chapters as they consist mostly of explanations irrelevant to story and just read dialogue and surrounding description. Kept hoping something new would happen, disappointed. Also, how Mc forces himself on women multiple times because no means yes right? Some cool cultivation and battles though.0 0 Reply

"Old man Tai, you've agreed to let me read a book about herbs today, you surely did not change your mind did you?"said the kid questioningly while observing the book the librarian was reading.0 0 Reply
