The ML is an enigmatic figure, initially distant but exclusively devoted to the MC, revealing a possessive nature as a wealthy elite. The harem aspect serves as a constant reminder of the MC's appeal, but the dynamics feel shallow and lack resolution, treating former friends as disposable without exploring their emotions.
The plot is slow-paced, with the romantic storyline yet to reach its climax at chapter 104. There are numerous plot holes and predictable online opinions. Overall, the story is surface-level entertainment, suitable for light reading to pass the time.
The first kiss scene, for instance, was marred by an extensive, drawn-out account of the tense atmosphere, which became overwhelming and detracted from the main storyline. In summary, it felt like padding with forced drama rather than a cohesive narrative progression.
Despite my desire for Bai Lin to face more consequences, I feel the resolution was satisfactory, if not perfect. It was a gratifying read overall. Just a minor spoiler: I would have liked to see the truth about Yu Mian's biological parents, given their influential backgrounds, but that aspect remained ambiguous. Fair enough, considering the story's direction.
The main character was supposedly adopted by the wicked adoptive parents as a cover or body double for their biological son. Initially, the MC was unaware of his adoption, and others believed him to be the biological child. What I find strange is that, based on the information available, both adoptive parents appear to be of Chinese ethnicity, while the MC visibly has mixed-race features. Multiple characters mention his mixed appearance, which is later confirmed when it's revealed that his father is European. If the plan was to pass off an adopted child as their own, it doesn't make logical sense that they'd choose someone like the MC, who is at least partly of a different racial background. If there's an explanation for this, I must have missed it.
The cliches are unbearable; it's like a terrible imitation of a dating show. The logic just doesn't hold up – if this were real life, these characters would have faced consequences much sooner. There are numerous plot holes that bother me, and I can't help but notice subtle racist undertones, possibly due to the translation (though I'm not certain).
The constant praise of the main character's beauty and cuteness feels forced and repetitive. If you're going to highlight it, at least vary the descriptions. Additionally, the translation seems off, raising questions about whether some parts were machine translated.
Lastly, despite having no experience in sculpting, the depiction feels overly artificial and distracts from the story. I apologize for any typos, as English isn't my first language, but I hope my concerns come across clearly.
