And on a totally unrelated topic, if u wrote a novel containing all the concepts you mentioned, I would read it.
[Specialty: Story-telling and material]
[Notables]
Romance: 4-5/10
There is romance present, though it's not very significant up to chapter 55. Most of it revolves around unrequited love and accidental events that sometimes remain unresolved.
Ecchi: 9/10
High standard. It doesn't just include cheap sexual scenes typical in borderline hentai but also delves into a deeper understanding of certain techniques and psyches. The physical ecchi content is quite heavy as well.
Story Progression: 6/10
The concept isn't very clear and tends to jump around. At times, it feels like "Virgin na Kankei," where the male protagonist has numerous female acquaintances clinging to him. However, in "Love Junkies," the guy exhibits more self-restraint and responsibility.
At other times, it resembles "Gakuen Heaven," where the protagonist somehow saves damsels in distress and occasionally ends up with a few girls, albeit unintentionally.
Harem: 8/10
An interesting harem. Unlike many mangas and animes with cheap harems where characters are introduced but not developed, "Love Junkies" takes a sophisticated approach. For instance, the girls usually don't appear all at once, and most of them aren't aware of each other.
The issue arises when some girls do inexplicable things or disappear for ten or more chapters before reappearing without much recap, which can confuse readers who may have forgotten about them.
Plot: 2/10
Up to chapter 55, only a few chapters hint at a plot—specifically, chapters 34 to 36. I won't reveal what it is, but the story has made its intentions clear up to this point.
---------------------------------------
Story: 7/10
Until around volume 5, the manga seemed to be in an introductory phase, with many new characters appearing for the first time or disappearing and then reappearing for some *event*. Sometimes, by the end of these events, I found myself scratching my head because there was no mention of the previous event in the next chapter, which was quite puzzling.
From volume 5 onward, it's evident that the manga is ready to delve into a deeper storyline, focusing more on understanding various characters and continuing the relationships between Eitaro (the main male character) and some previous girls. Character development is excellent.
By the way, it's getting increasingly interesting, with potential for several more twists along the way. The author's storytelling methods hold huge promise for what's to come.
Art: 7/10
The facial expressions and character drawings are very detailed. However, there's room for improvement in terms of dramatic facial expressions, which aren't always impactful. Considering this manga started in 1999, the art style seems a bit outdated but understandable.
The art isn't exceptionally outstanding, but it's detailed, requiring a lot of time and effort to draw even one panel.
Character: 8/10
A multitude of characters are introduced, some of whom disappear for several chapters after being introduced in just one chapter. There's plenty of character development, and it appears to be evenly distributed among all characters.
Each character exudes a unique vibe, making the story more engaging. Different problems, approaches, and personalities add depth.
One complaint is that some actions are strange and unexplained, destabilizing established personalities.
Enjoyment: 7/10
Good overall. It's a unique manga, and it's probably hard to find something very similar. However, it does have some heavier and unexplained (puzzling) parts.
Overall: 8/10
The overall feel is an 8, although just based on the story, it would be a 7.
It seemed like the chronological system was a bit off. I thought there were two 21st-century countdowns (Chapter 7, page 9, and Chapter 32, page 21) in the manga until chapter 55. White Day wasn't featured (mentioned in Chapter 34, already passed in Chapter 37), I think. Or did I miss a chapter? Lol...
Read this if you enjoy Hishoka Drops or Virgin na Kankei.
There's some good comedy in there too!
P.S. The side stories are great!
And phew, this was a tough review to write. ==
