As the crepuscular winds flowed over mountains and through valleys, a flickering light danced upon a tent of fur. As the howling of the winds crescendoed, an infant's cry pierced through the orchestra; the dissonance ending only after the boy was held by his frail mother.
"Thank the Emperor! I thought that I would go mad!"
The midwife's complaint seemed to fall upon deaf ears as the new parent was too engrossed with her child. Even the distant rumbling of the heavens didn't seem to dispel the boy's power over the woman. With a light smile, the midwife silently observed the mother and son. But as the interval between the flashes that illuminated the night and the crackling booms that resounded across the earth grew shorter and shorter, the midwife, staring at the boy, softly said,
"Miss... "
Waiting a few moments for a response, and yet receiving none, the midwife lightly tapped on the new mother.
"Miss, we should prepare for the incoming storm. We wouldn't want..."
As the midwife's plea trailed off, the gaunt young woman lifted her eyes towards the embers of a dying flame. The first few droplets fell before the woman lifted her head towards the black void to witness a blinding, arcing serpent slither through the clouds, only to disappear the next moment. As her gaze once again fell upon the now sizzling embers, an unknown language escaped her lips,
"His name shall be Uriel, for he will be a fire in the darkness."
