The Unicorn Legion

A thought provoking start with expertly told storytelling and life like introduction to Yuki and Hatsuki. Author is brilliant with her words and left me surprised with how soft the introduction was to the circumstances that plague the female protag. Usually there is a bit info dump involved but not in this novel but this author. Story is a blend of intriguing romance and a nice slice of life feel. Author is very good with humor as well as in one chapter, the female protag asked her counterpart if he can bring rain. Each scene is masterfully depicted with detailed description of background objects, clothes and time of the hour by using Show, Not tell. I am in awe with how subtle yet powerful grasp the author has on her words.

Today, I tried reading my own book, and I came across some cringy parts that I never want to read again. But I have to admit, the world-building is great! Overall, I'd give it a solid 10/10 though, of course, I'm a bit biased as the author.

The story is good, it starts off a bit slow but around chapter 10 it starts to kick it up. The reason I say writing is low, is the author needs to use spell check or proof read the work. I’m 48 chapters in and there is so many spelling/grammar issues that takes me a second to decipher their intentions. They also have several areas where they forget what was mention in last chapter or even at beginning of current chapter making contradictory statements, for example they mention the MC was unconscious for nearly 24 hours and half a chapter later that 24 hours has been changed to an hour. All in all it’s a good read, just need to take some time and decipher the author’s intentions for the story. Hopefully this will be seen by author and they can adjust some in the future as it is a great story so far and I want to see it improve and continue.
